The benefits of antioxidants found in many fruits, vegetables, nuts, tea, and wine may include tinkering with fat cells in a way that curbs obesity and helps the heart.
A new study shows that, in test tubes, antioxidants called flavonoids and phenolic acids ... didn't kill fat cells or slash the number of fat cells in the test tubes. Instead, they made fat cells cut their production of triglycerides, which are a heart hazard. The antioxidants did that by curbing an enzyme needed to make triglycerides, according to the study...
Meanwhile, reams of research support eating a healthy diet rich in produce...

Doctors are generally ignorant of the role of nutrition in treating diseases because the subject is never taught in medical schools. But things are changing as the medical fraternity is gradually waking up to the fact that nutrition can no longer be ignored.
“Nutrition research is not being rubbished anymore as unscientific,” said Dr Pang Chu Yen, as hard evidence is showing up to elevate nutrition to a more prominent role.
One of the more startling findings is that a phytochemical (plant chemicals produced to protect plants from pests and diseases) called isothiocyanate kills cancer cells resistant to chemotherapy... phytochemicals can act as antioxidants neutralising free radicals thought to trigger cancer and other degenerative diseases, as hormonal agents that reduce symptoms of menopause and osteoporosis, and as stimulators of enzymes that work against cell multiplication...

MEAT TREATMENT GOT APPROVAL DESPITE SAFETY CONCERNS

Found at http://www.wackyuses.com/lice.html
Medicated lice shampoos are often ineffective and may cause brain damage in children if left on head even ten minutes longer than the manufacturer's recommended time.
Mayonnaise costs much less, it's completely safe, and it will kill all lice on the head as well as their nits (eggs). Plus it's a great conditioner! To kill (actually smother) head lice completely, follow these simple instructions:
Step 1 Saturate hair completely with Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise, Best Real Mayonnaise, or Kraft Real Mayonnaise. Be sure to work the mayonnaise in the hair and roots well. Hair MUST be extremely greasy from the mayonnaise to prevent lice from breathing.
Step 2 Wrap hair as tightly as possible with Saran Wrap or Handi-Wrap (or a shower cap), then wrap with a towel.
Step 3 Allow to remain on head for at least one hour. Two hours will guarantee all the lice are dead. During this time, take all pillow cases, towels, blankets, sheets, and clothes that have come into contact with any lice infested hair and run them through the washing machine and dryer.
Step 4 Shampoo hair thoroughly.
Rinse hair with Heinz White Vinegar, then rinse clean with water.
Comb hair with a nit comb if desired.
No nits should survive this treatment if done properly.
Congratulations! You're done!
There's no need to repeat the treatment in seven days as with medicated shampoos. Don't worry about any lice that may have escaped during the treatment. Lice die within 12 to 24 hours without a human head to feed on and, contrary to popular belief, they cannot jump nor will they transfer to your pets.

Do you want your child to be free of asthma? If so, you should eat lots of apples while you are pregnant, a new Scottish study suggests. Researchers at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland found that 5-year-old children whose mothers had eaten the most apples during pregnancy were least likely to experience wheezing episodes or doctor-confirmed asthma.

DNA TESTING PROVES HUMANS ARE DESIGNED AS STARCH EATERS
Researchers reasoned that starchy foods, like tubers, were crucial to the successful evolution of early humans, because starches offer important advantages. Their abundant, readily-available calories provide for the energy required for the evolutionary enlargement of our brains...
Proponents of meat-based diets preach that the introduction of meat into the human diet was responsible for the evolutionary development of the human brain. One of this study’s principle authors said this theory is improbable. Nathaniel Dominy pointed out, “Even when you look at modern human hunter-gatherers, meat is a relatively small fraction of their diet.
They cooperate with language, use nets; they have poisoned arrows, even, and still it's not that easy to hunt meat. To think that, two to four million years ago, a small-brained, awkwardly bipedal animal could efficiently acquire meat, even by scavenging, just doesn't make a whole lot of sense.”...
Through the modern science of DNA we have discovered an essential truth locked in our genes: humans are starch eaters. The failure to abide by this truth has resulted in unprecedented human disease due to malnutrition from over-nutrition, and an impending environmental collapse from the livestock industries supporting Western people’s perverse diet.
Applying correct information about human nutrition results in miraculous cures of dietary diseases (for example, obesity, type-2 diabetes, inflammatory arthritis, and the ravages of atherosclerosis). The eventual return of humans to their starch-based diet will be a huge step in solving our environmental crises, as well.

You know carbohydrates can be fattening. But, contrary to what most of my patients have been told, the risks versus healthy benefits of carb foods are not related to their sweetness.
Many carbohydrates spike your blood sugar and stimulate your body to produce insulin. This insulin then causes you to build and store fat. Do it for long enough and this will make you fat and tired. It will also lead to other health problems like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease and diabetes. So how can you tell the difference between carbs that spike insulin and those that are less harmful?
You'll see, it's not sweetness that makes the difference. You can use a simple system based on the glycemic index. You can eat certain foods that taste sweet and avoid the real insulin producers.
* Sweetness versus Glycemic Index *
Just because it tastes sweet doesn't mean that it will spike your blood sugar. That is a concept that many of my patients have a hard time accepting at first. But it makes sense when you look at it in terms of the glycemic index. The glycemic index is a rank of how carbohydrates in different foods affect blood sugar levels. Carbohydrates that breakdown the quickest have the highest glycemic indexes. The index is in percentage terms. It is a comparison to pure glucose. For example, a food with a glycemic index of 50% will cause half of the rapid rise in blood sugar that glucose would.
Spiking your blood sugar can cause your body to store extra fat related to your insulin response. The higher the glycemic index of the food you eat, the more fat youll make from it even if it has an equal number of calories.
Glycemic Index Scale
Low Glycemic Index: 0-55
Medium Glycemic Index: 56-69
High Glycemic Index: 70 and up
Glycemic Index of Common Foods1
Low (0-55) Medium (56-69) High (70 or more)
Eggs Meat Apple
Orange Pear Baked beans
Milk Berries Bananas
Carrots Yams Ice Cream
White rice SodaPound cake Rice cakes
Waffle Breakfast cereal Bread (white and whole wheat)
Sports Drinks Bagel
Notice that most fruit and berries fall in the low glycemic group despite tasting quite sweet. Notice man-made starches like cereals and breads have the very highest glycemic indexes even though they are not sweet. This is a difficult message to get across. We are inundated with ads for starchy cereals touting them as healthy. Some sources including our government are still clinging to the disastrously poor advice of recommending multiple servings of starchy grains every day.
Think of it like this: the starchier the food, the more likely it is to have a high glycemic index. So this would tell you that foods like potatoes, spaghetti, and corn are all high on the glycemic index. Conversely, foods that are naturally sweet but not starchy like berries and most fresh fruit are likely to have low glycemic indexes. In other words fruit is not nearly as fattening as breads, pastas, cereals, potatoes and corn.
* Forget Cereal *
There are many good reasons to try to keep low glycemic foods in your diet. Foods low on the glycemic scale:
Will help you to feel fuller longer
Cause a smaller rise in blood sugar
Can improve insulin sensitivity
Can inhibit fat storage
May increase your endurance (the fuel doesnt burn up so quickly)
There is a good database for the glycemic index of foods on the Internet at
www.glycemicindex.com. Just type in the food and you will see its glycemic rating.
In short, stay away from foods that are starchy, made from grains, or have been artificially sweetened. The more you reduce these foods that are high on the glycemic index, the better youll feel.
On the other hand sweetness is not a necessarily a problem. If a food is naturally sweet and you like it, eat it. When given natural choices, your sweet tooth will serve you well.

From our friend Veronika:
Sometimes you get good feedback. And, that's what 2 of our raw-fooders got this week.
Winnie Comstock-Carlson, raw for 5 months, and Mark Blackburn, raw for 5 years were tested with about 15 others at the offices of Comstock's Business Magazines http://www.comstocksbusiness.com in Sacramento for their level of antioxidants, an approximation of the strength of one's immune system. Dan Brooks, an independent distributor for Pharmanex, explained that the following scores had the following meanings:
Below 20 Danger
20s Caution
30s Good
40+ Excellent
I was frankly apprehensive as I saw others get scores like 10, 14, 17, 20, 22, and 25.
After approximately 15 individuals were tested, the highest score achieved was a 35. Then, our raw fooders took their turn.
Winnie got an outstanding 53, and Mark an impressive 82! Do raw foods have a place in increasing your anti-oxidants, and, in turn, your immune system strength? The tests conducted on Wednesday seem to suggest it. We may try to have Dan Brooks come to one of our potlucks and offer these scans.

Most people eating a conventional, modern diet composed predominantly of processed foods will rarely experience a normal bowel movement.
That's a shame because a really good b.m. leaves you with the same feeling you'd get if,
say, the Publisher's Clearinghouse award van pulled into your driveway.
This will probably sound odd to many, but you can have a better and more complete evacuation of your intestines every day if you put a footstool in front of the toilet. Then, when you sit down to make a deposit, put your feet on top of the footstool.
As most of the rest of the world knows, the easiest bowel movements come when the human body is in a squatting position. Using a footstool with an American toilet helps to more closely get the body in the natural position.
It's even better to put the seat in the up position on the toilet and to then squat on the rim of the commode. I don't recommend this technique for those with balance problems, and I've also heard of a postal worker (no kidding) who was fired because he refused to take his shoes off when balancing on the rim of the commode at work. I don't know how he was ever caught in the act, so don't ask.
Seriously, the footstool technique works wonders for constipated people, and most Americans are seriously constipated.
From http://chetday.com
[ While Raw Living Fooders don't generally have problems moving a BM, Dr. Ann Wigmore taught the same method that Chet is describing, and at Creative Health Institute we have a footstool in every bathroom for just this purpose. - Jim Carey ]

Mice that ate a high-fat diet gained weight and experienced a disruption in their circadian clocks, which regulate metabolic functions such as when they go to sleep, wake up and become hungry.
The disruption threw off the timing of the animals’ internal signals, including appetite control. As a result, the mice ate extra calories during the time when they would have otherwise been asleep or resting. For humans, this would be the equivalent of raiding the refrigerator in the middle of the night
The high-fat diet and resulting weight gain also triggered diminished expression of genes that encode the clock in the brain and in peripheral tissues.
The findings suggest that changes in metabolic state that occur with obesity and diabetes affect not only circadian rhythms of behavior but also physiology.

What is behind the improbably successful presidential campaign of Ron Paul, a 72-year-old, 10-term Republican congressman from Texas who favors the gold standard?
How did Paul manage to set a one-day GOP record by raising $4.3 million on the Internet? Paul's campaign didn't even organize the fundraiser -- an independent-minded supporter did.
According to this Washington Post editorial, a new and potentially transformative force is growing in American politics. Americans are increasingly disillusioned with government becoming ever more intrusive at all levels.
Paul’s philosophy of principled libertarianism, predicated on the fundamental notion that a smaller government allows individuals more freedom, appeals to these voters.

Well, gee whiz! I guess I’ve hit the big time!
I saw this post at the chidiet.net blog (just about the only site I would want to recommend for in-depth serious training in Ann Wigmore’s diet theory)
Since I have been heavy into Ann Wigmore since forever (what? you did not know that?), I surfed over there right away, and then clicked on the link, and guess who popped up??? It was me, myself, and I! with that lovely smile I periodically demonstrate (Julia Roberts: watch your back!!!) My blog was featured on WordPress.com….. coolness in person….Yes, please do go see it!
Okay, end of personal horn-blowing…

A new study in the December issue of the Review of Agricultural Economics puts to rest the myth that serving nutritious meals in schools will turn off kids and break the school budget.
School lunch programmers often make the claim that junk foods, like hot dogs, nachos and pizza, must be served in cafeterias, because healthy food is too expensive and kids won't buy it anyway.
In contrast, researchers analyzed 330 school districts over a five year period and found that shifting school lunch programs towards healthier foods does not reduce student demand and ultimately saves the school money.
While serving better meals requires higher labor costs, those expenses are offset by lower costs for more nutritious foods such as fruits and vegetables compared with processed foods.
Learn more about how you can help your child's school integrate healthier foods into the cafeteria by visiting http://www.organicconsumers.org/afc.cfm.

Unpaid bills, overdue projects, groceries to get, and messes to clean . . . Worry pileups like these at the end of the day can make sleep as elusive as Bigfoot.
A better plan: Set aside time to worry about these things before you crawl under the covers. That way, the space between lying down and drifting off won't be filled with sleepless fretting. Here's how to make a date with your worries.
Make a Date with Paper
If nagging thoughts won't let you nod off, give yourself 15 minutes before bedtime to grab some paper and a pen and jot down what's on your mind, advise Paul Glovinsky, PhD, and Arthur Spielman, PhD, in their book The Insomnia Answer. They suggest listing your concerns on the left page of a notebook and then brainstorming some solutions on the right side. And don't shoot for perfect problem-solvers. Even temporary solutions should help you sleep.

Hello my healthy friends!
Any of you know about foods to prevent lead poisoning? Outside of the great book "Prescription for Nutritional Healing", I don't have any other info on that.
I recently (September) gratefully took a job at a small electronics engineering and assembly firm, and the "organic" solder we use is 2/3 tin, 1/3 lead. I thought, uh oh, toxic stuff that's probably worse than Cool Whip or the other "junk" at the grocery store. Plus, besides the chilly weather I've had to ride my bike recently (in Kansas), and a couple culinary mistakes at Thanksgiving, I am normally in good health, but I have taken some stuffy-head, mucusy, respiratory junk that seems better than it was a week ago, but with most of the soldering I do at work being with this "organic solder," I'm wondering...... I just looked at the online MSDS, and it says "respiratory and possible reproductory risks," not to mention the problems that lead is famous for.
Any suggestions? I'm presently a full-time student in computer-aided drafting, (time is at a premium now) so this job, which pays $9/hr is a good thing, and "permanent part time" instead of temporary. And a good-paying job outside of being a high-paid burger-flipper is always appreciated! :)
Thank you,
Phil Kvasnica

There are no foods that will “prevent” wellness challenges from lead poisoning or other heavy metal poisoning. You have to remove the cause if you want to stay well. Soldering with organic solder is NOT the answer in my opinion. To learn more, read Richard Andersons book Cleanse and Heal Thyself. Both 1 and 2. There is also a forum you can visit to ask more questions

Yarrow is six months old now and reaching out for sweet glistening colorful fruits whenever I’m handling them. They say you know your baby is ready to eat solids when they start watching you eat. And it is interesting that fruits are the things that really attract her. Nothing else has such appeal! - pun unintended.
So far she’s teething on pieces of apples and hard persimmons that she can hold, but are big enough that she can’t choke on them. Soon I’ll be straining soft fruits and feeding them to her with a spoon but so far she doesn’t seem to want to swallow the mushy stuff. She is growing really big just nursing for now.

Government: "Vaccines threaten up to 44,000 soldiers"
"This really is like Russian roulette. Spin the chamber and take your shot"
A U.S. soldier in Iraq is being punished for refusing an anthrax vaccine that has a questionable safety record and apparently will be drummed out of the service.
But such punishments may be of no avail to the military; the word already is out in a government report that up to an estimated 44,000 service members could end up with "severe adverse events (including) disability or death" from such mandatory medicines.
The recent case involves Pfc. Leif Hamre, 22, who reports he's been subjected to threats and intimidation after refusing to take the controversial anthrax vaccine and was given a variety of punishments, including 18-hour work days.
Hamre reports he was given an ultimatum in June to take the vaccine or be punished but couldn't accept the medication, especially after he discovered the military wasn't even handling the vaccines under the rules for storing it at the correct temperature.
In an open letter to friends and family members, he said, "The tactics they have used to coerce me into taking the shot are unregulated, unscrupulous and downright un-American."
He reported he then was given an Article 15 – a non-judicial punishment in the military – and his mother reported he was taken off missions, assigned extra duty and had his pay scale lowered.
The controversial shots first were mandated for U.S. military troops heading to the Middle East for the Gulf War in 1991, then required in the late 1990s and again for the Iraq War in 2003.
But the vaccine has been linked by investigative journalist Gary Matsumoto in his book, "Vaccine-A," to the Gulf War Syndrome, and a recent report from the General Accounting Office even confirmed that tens of thousands of soldiers are expected to suffer significant health threats from the mandatory vaccinations.

Hi, I’m enjoying the color of the New Look of the Newsletter. It has a nice light feel to it (just like when you eat raw) and being able to see the categories and get to it as a reference means that I won’t need to archive them on my computer. It’s nice to see a picture of Jim on it looking so very balanced and healthy.
I am not 100% raw but am eating more raw day by day and am losing weight and loving it. Your news letter is a great inspiration!! Thank you for doing it!
~ Carol Dean

Thanks for the kind words.
Remember… even if you’re not 100% raw, how much better are you doing now than when you were on the SAD?

Many times life will not go according to the plans we make. Disappointments are a part of life. The key to a healthy, balanced life lies in acceptance.
Acceptance, far from being complacent, is liberating. Acceptance means letting go of the "victim" mentality, and acknowledging our role as leaders in our lives. It is the first stage of the healing processes of release and forgiveness. Acceptance is a necessary component of growth that keeps us from remaining in the past.
Choosing acceptance over denial enables us to be more objective, opening the door to alternative solutions. It allows us to live for today, fully in the moment, fully present.
Valid solutions are elusive when we fight life's circumstances as opposed to empowering ourselves to manage them.
What we resist persists, and in the act of letting go we attain clarity. Reflect on an aspect of yourself, or a situation in your life, that you have not been able to accept. What causes you to resist what is? How do you feel accepting this will benefit you? Can you see yourself moving beyond it? What steps can you take to reach this goal?

Jim,
I LOVE your new newsletter. At first, I didn't recognize it as yours. The colors and pictures are very cheerful and pleasant on the eyes.
What happened with the German woman who was helping you? I liked reading her blibs, but it looks like she is no longer with you. She mentioned the weather, and it's sure different than in Germany. If she's gone, I miss her, if she's still here, I am glad, a probably you too.
Now, for this minute, I just tried to listen to Recipes for Life, but it could not be connected. It said something about "loading problems" . Unfortunately, there are only 48 hours availability. I will keep trying to connect with it as long as I can, hoping that I can receive the "enlightenment" it will have for us.
Thanks so much and keep on doing what you love doing and are so good at doing!
Louann

Thank you for the kind words.
Renata went to Clemson, SC, to pursue an opportunity there. Have a local girl doing admin stuff for me, but it’s not the same as having an experienced raw fooder to help. Donna is, however, getting really interested in the Raw Lifestyle, just from helping edit the weblog and newsletter.
Re: Recipes for Life – it didn’t work for me, either. Hopefully they’ll re-post it for another free period.

The modern food diet of cooked, de-mineralized, de-vitaminized food accompanied by poor elimination, produces a great deal of acid poisons which bathe the cells of the body causing pain, swelling, and inflammation. When accompanied by a lack of organic sodium, calcium tends to settle in the various parts of the system, for sodium is the mineral which helps to keep calcium in proper solution so the body can utilize it.
When this calcium settles in the joints, we have the condition known as arthritis. When it settles in the gall bladder or the kidneys, then we have gall stones or kidney stones. And when it settles in the walls of the arteries, then we have high blood pressure or hardening of the arteries.
So in light of these facts you can see how important it is for us to consume green leafy vegetables which are abundant in organic sodium.

Results of a study of the Raw Vegan Lifestyle in Finland:
We tested the effects of an uncooked vegan diet, rich in lactobacilli, in rheumatoid arthritis patients randomized into diet and control groups.
The intervention group experienced subjective relief of rheumatic symptoms during intervention. A return to an omnivorous diet aggravated symptoms.
Half of the patients experienced adverse effects (nausea, diarrhea) during the diet and stopped the experiment prematurely. Indicators of rheumatic disease activity did not differ statistically between groups.
The positive subjective effect experienced by the patients was not discernible in the more objective measures of disease activity (Health Assessment Questionnaire, duration of morning stiffness, pain at rest and pain on movement). However, a composite index showed a higher number of patients with 3-5 improved disease activity measures in the intervention group. Stepwise regression analysis associated a decrease in the disease activity (measured as change in the Disease Activity Score, DAS) with lactobacilli-rich and chlorophyll-rich drinks, increase in fibre intake, and no need for gold, methotrexate or steroid medication (R2=0.48, P=0.02).
The results showed that an uncooked vegan diet, rich in lactobacilli, decreased subjective symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis. Large amounts of living lactobacilli consumed daily may also have positive effects on objective measures of rheumatoid arthritis.

Starch Causes Gas in the Bowels
by: Dr. John Tilden
Dr. Tilden was a late 19th century and early 20th century medical doctor who turned to Natural Hygiene to help his patients recover from a wide variety of diseases.
Today we'll learn how the quick eating of starch causes gas in the bowels.
"When digestion of starch is not started in the mouth by thoroughly mixing it with the mouth secretions, fermen- tation results, and gas fills the stomach and bowels, causing much discomfort. The bloating will in time cause constipation. When the bowels are distended with gas, persistalsis (compulsory action) is overcome, and obstinate constipation follows."
J.H. Tilden
In other words, chew your food thoroughly, especially if you're having a starchy food.

Dr. John Tilden was a late 19th century and early 20th century medical doctor who turned to Natural Hygiene to help his patients recover from a wide variety of diseases. Today we'll look at the last five of Dr. Tilden's suggestions for food combinations.
6. Finish the thorough mastication of the starchy foods before taking any fluid, and then fluid must be sipped slowly.
7. Have a raw vegetable or fruit salad with every protein or starch dinner.
8. Do not take a protein dinner oftener than four times a week, unless specially instructed to do so by some authority on diet.
9. Raw fruit and starch can be taken in the same meal by most people; however, the cooked fruit, and especially that cooked with sugar, when combined with starch is inclined to start fermentation in the stomach.
10. Remember that the mineral elements are necessary; and these cannot be secured through iron tonics, etc.
They can be utilized by the organism only when secured from natural foods. http://chetday.com/hbprogram.html For a list of the different types of foods, i.e. starch, acid, etc.

by Dr. Mercola
The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, a division of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), has released the 2007-2008 recommended immunization schedules for adults in the US.
The schedule includes 11 different types of vaccines for adults, including:
Key changes in this year's recommendations include:
I about fell off my chair when I read that one. But it’s true. The CDC actually defines dental caries as an infectious, communicable disease, and a vaccine may be here sooner than you think.
This is beyond ridiculous when you consider that there are many cultures in the world that simply have virtually NO tooth decay and I can strongly assure you that it has absolutely nothing related to any vaccine. It is because they are not eating processed foods and sugars and are mostly consuming foods appropriate for their nutritional type.
I firmly believe, as Dr. Weston Price confirmed in his pioneering research a century ago, that if you eat the proper foods you can avoid dental decay virtually your entire life.
Unfortunately that simply wasn’t true for me and the majority of my teeth were LOADED with silver mercury amalgam fillings by the time I graduated high school. It wasn’t until the mid 90s that I realized that it was best to have the mercury removed BUT unfortunately I saw a conventional dentist that was clueless about the precautions required to remove these fillings and as a result, I suffered some kidney impairment that I still struggle with today.
So if you have silver fillings removed make sure that a good “biological” dentist does the replacements for you. My current favorite replacement material is a metal free composite. I actually have two bridges constructed from this and a mouth full of composite crowns.
Why do People Still Believe in the Flu Shot?
But getting back to the vaccines, Big Pharma may appear idiotic, but they are no fools. They know people want guaranteed safety. “Here, take this shot and nothing bad will happen to you,” they say. And a lot of people believe them, even when evidence of the opposite comes out. They just want the magic pill to be true.
Some hard-hitting evidence released just a couple of months ago should make anyone think twice about the flu shot: flu vaccines have NEVER been proven to prevent flu-related deaths in people over age 65, which is one of the primary groups for which they’re recommended.
You may also be shocked to learn that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) grossly distorts the facts about flu deaths. If you go to the CDC’s main flu page, you’ll see their statistic that about 36,000 people die from the flu in the United States each year.
But if you search a little harder, you can find the actual number of people who died from the flu in 2005 (this is the most recent data that’s available). Want to take a guess at what it is?
In 2005, 1,806 people died from influenza, not 36,000. And in 2004, there were just 1,100 flu deaths.
The statistics the CDC gives are skewed partly because they classify those dying from pneumonia as dying from the flu, which is not at all true or accurate. For instance, their 2005 statistics lump influenza and pneumonia deaths together, at 62,804 deaths.
But broken down, there were 60,998 deaths from pneumonia and just 1,806 from the flu.
This will not stop the powers-that-be from touting their yearly fall warnings about this year’s upcoming flu season, and all the flu deaths that will follow. The media (which is largely controlled by corporations, many of which are making or selling the flu shots or the junk food that will actually make you more vulnerable to the flu) would have you believe that getting the flu shot is all you need to do to stay healthy all winter.
How to Prevent the Flu Naturally
For most people the flu shot does not make you healthy; it does just the opposite, as it weakens your immune system. It appears that some of you in the medical field are beginning to catch on to this, with less than 40 percent of health care workers getting flu shots in 2006.
The truth is, if you follow a healthy lifestyle, you will not have to worry about getting the flu.
Take it from me -- I’ve never received a flu shot, and I haven’t missed a day of work due to illness in over 20 years. The key steps that I follow to stay flu-free, which I suggest you follow too, include:
Whether or not you will subject yourself to the flu shot, or any of the other recommended vaccinations, is an important decision. Unless you’ve already studied it carefully, I would implore you to spend some time analyzing both sides of the argument before you make up your mind. Rushing blindly ahead could have dire consequences, especially if you’ve never considered the potential for side effects. You can use the links on my Favorites Page to start your journey.
If you do the research and decide that a vaccination is NOT for you, you do have the legal right to refuse it.

Subject: Just in case you missed the lecture tonight, here's a very brief summary of Brian and Anna Marie Clement's talk (2 December 2007)
Never mix fruits and veggies (watermelon is a veggie, so it and greens are ok)
Don't mix proteins and starches because if makes gas and alcohol - nuts and crackers are a good example - your body will make alcohol in 20 - 45 minutes
no proteins and starchy carbs - root vegetables
If you have cancer bacterial infection, lyme disease, fungal disease, diabetes - no fruits until you get well. Afterward, just 15% of your diet should be fruits.
In CA, oranges are picked green and sprayed orange ('color enhanced'); in FL they ripen in April but are picked in November and are acid.
Children can eat up to 40% ripe fruit
80 oz. of fluid (that includes smoothies and energy soups) a day for a 160 pound person is necessary
Put distilled water in a window for 20 minutes after you add some minerals (a little dulse is ok - I use a tablespoon and blend it in a cup of water and then pour it back into the glass pitcher and put it in the window.
Do saunas to sweat
If you can't get distilled water, organized molecule water/living water by Dr. Higgins in CA
Pure (not flavored) Smart water is good and alkaline
Penta water is not good
MPCE from gasoline is in all water supplies
Send out happy, loving thoughts and within 5 minutes there is a positive chemical and hormonal healthy change that will be visable in a blood sample.
Eat local food, which has 10 - 30 times more nutrients in it than imported
95% of supplements are dangerous/damaging. Whole food supplements are not.
Brian at 20 weighed 240 pounds and smoked 3 packs a day as a drummer. If he walked up 3 or 4 steps, he had to stop to get his breath.
eat 80 - 90% of your food raw, eat all organic
After disease is healed, you may eat up to 25% of cooked food
millet or tempe
He is adamantly against water fasting. - dementia from that lack of B-12
sunflower greens, pea greens, cucumber and celery for a green drink.
Use no beets or carrots because there is too much sugar and it feeds cancers, viruses and molds..
Do use parsley,kale
2 oz. of wheat grass juice = 7 pounds of juiced vegetables
clover sprouts are great
Peace and love,
Flora
