I've been 100% raw now for almost 5 months now. But am still having health problems - teeth and periodic bloating (to the extreme). Could really use some encouragement!
Thanks,
Judy B.

Bacteria will cause bloating and raw food is not immune to bacteria, viruses and parasite eggs.
Have you done your bowel cleanses with enemas and colonics? This gets rid of the old starches that will ferment and cause bloating when the fruit sugars come down and mix with them.
Are you talking while you are eating? Are you paying attention to your food or watching TV or reading?
Are you chewing the liquids like they were solids or chewing the solids until they are liquid?
Are you eating mostly blended or juiced foods (no gas once the bacteria and old starches are gone)? Lots and lots of greens that are blended go well with fruit. All of our energy comes from fruit sugar, not from chlorophyll.

Have done bowel cleanses and colonics in the past. But I no longer believe that's the way to go, and would rather accomplish cleansing through diet. If someone else is around, I do talk during a meal, but not with food in my mouth. My mother taught me better! (-:
If I'm alone, I may turn on the TV. No, I don't chew liquids, and I chew my solids as well as I can. Hope this answers your questions.

Hello Judy!
This is Steven Gibb, former Director of CHI and founder of RawFriends.com.
What type of teeth challenges are you having? Bloating is usually due to detoxing with regard to living food. Depending on where you started on your wellness journey... it may take several years to completely detox. Bloating is often due to gas which can be trapped under layers of mucoid plaque and escaping slowly as you carve this out of your GI tract.
How is your food combining and how many foods are you eating at one setting? Try mono eating (one item; e.g. avocado) and tell me if the gas and bloating continues. If so, this could be a pancreas issue or the need of an herbal intestinal cleanse!
Keep a log of what you eat and the times and symptoms you are having.
Warmly,
Steven

I'm drinking green smoothies, but not all day long, or at every meal, or even every day.

Also, citrus will eat the enamel off your teeth, as well as decalcify your bones (read Annmarie Corbin's book about Foods That Heal).

I've always had sensitive teeth, which I imagine is due to the fact that my saliva has (until recently) been very acidic.
Don't think my problem is due to additional enamel being eaten off my teeth, because the extreme sensitivity that I experienced just after doing the Master Cleanse has lessened. My body seemed to reject a crown, and it fell out. Strange that it happened just after I'd finished the Master Cleanse, while on the "orange juice only phase".
Subsequent dental intervention to replace the crown has only made things worse.
Judy
