Jim, I wish you could have seen the tears in Lamoy's eyes when I gave her the $100 check from the lady who wrote a letter saying that this was to be used to help her "start her business". Wonderful people donating to help this worthy family. I am all out of organic cherry seeds to send but all I can do is keep praying that people want to share what they have and donate to her before April 15th when they will get a tax writeoff.

As for the lymphoma, wheatgrass juice does work miracles. But, it's not what we add to our diets, it's what we consistently refuse to take into our bodies: salted processed cholesterol and oils of any type. No olive oils, no flax seed oil (just soak the flax seeds or grow them into plants), no animal foods of any type and make sure that the food is liquified (juiced or blended) in order not to stress the body. Don't put any lotions or oils on the surface of the skin because that just adds to the problem. A little avocado and natural oils from soaked nuts and seeds will supply, along with the dark green leafy greens and sea vegetables, everything that is needed in the way of essential fatty acids.

I got a care food pkg from Angela Stokes for Lamoy, Joe & the Kids

John Romano drives to their home to get his weekly supply of food from Lamoy on Sunday. He has the huge box of food Angela sent and he will take it up to them. It arrived at a time that they really need it. They are a month behind on their rent and I know they feel blessed that their landlord is not being pushy about it. This is the first time they have been behind. I took her some food yesterday morning and when I came home, there was the package at the post office and I cannot go again until Tuesday, but John is kind enough to do it a few days earlier.

One of their sons had his 7th birthday a week ago and he shyly asked me for a present the next time I come. He got underpants, but no toys. She is happy to know that the principle for the bail bond has been paid off, after a generous check from Brenda Cobb of $300, and is struggling to make sense of having to pay interest too, because she was just subtracting the payments from the $6,250 balance, plus a $75 fee twice for having to move the money to different cards when they didn't make the payment on time and the interest shot up to usury amounts.

This innocent young family had not even had a checking account when I met them and had been trying to live just from their pocket change. When they were asked for $12,500 as bail, the bail bondsman gave them 50% to him, with my guarantee, and 50% to my credit card (with my guarantee). They made the $300 per month for the bail bondsman, but when it came to my credit card, the minute they were forced into that expensive home by the state, with the payments of $1,400/month for just the rent, there was nothing left. She has gotten her driving license, and has sent in the papers for her business license.

She's almost there to being an independent businesswoman with a catering service. Help her just a little longer, and then she will make us all proud. I'm proud of her for just being a good, loving mother under the circumstances, and trying as hard as she is to help others, and never doubt God's path for her.

Sharing Living Foods

Today, I got brave. Love makes me brave. I've been watching this quiet young man on the bus for a few weeks now, in a wheelchair, with his legs strapped in, and his right arm hanging motionless. I don't have my glasses on, so I can't edit this, but I wanted to send it to you so you could communicate it to others.

I've been thinking and praying how I could speak to him because he looked so depressed and half on the point of tears sometimes. Today, I sat next to his wheelchair, in a little seat that is pulled down once the driver locks the chair in place. I rode half the way, and finally leaned over and said, "I've been praying for you for weeks, and I guess I should know your name." He told me, and smiled. I rushed right in where angels fear to tread and asked him if the doctors had told him about foods that could help him regenerate his cells, and he said no. I asked him if he knew that fried foods were his worst enemy right now, and he said no. And, before the trip was over, he had the Energy Soup recipe, how to make and ripen pineapple juice, and all about electric food which carries the current that his nerves and muscles need to get him on his feet again after his motorcycle accident.

There but for the grace of God, goes one of my sons, I thought. He didn't look depressed when he rolled off, and thanked me very enthusiastically. Now I know why I suffer through this 60 degree bus ride. It was worth it, this last year, if I am able to help this young man walk again.

I think of my beloved tree in VA, which got eaten up by kuzu in my absence, and the trees at the NE corner of S. Dr. Wigmore wrote an important pamphlet, "WHY YOU DON'T NEED TO GROW OLD" that many people have not read yet. I want to quote from the preface written by Dr. Saul Heller, Diplomate, American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology; Past President, N.Y. State Board of Medicine (how about those for hefty credentials - besides, he was a gorgeous hunk in his senior years when I met him in Boston at the Commonwealth Avenue Wigmore Institute):

"While attending Cornell University medical College in the 1920s, I received a basic course in the science of neutrition. Its content concerned food components, how they are digested and utilized, and how their caloric values are determined.

However, the relationship of this knowledge to the health of the body was limited. It was not until 1982 that evidence came to my attention that live foods are helpful in the treatment and prevention of cancer. This study was conducted by the National Institutes of health in Washington, D.C., but unfortunately it's findings were not widely publicized.

In 1984, when I personally developed an inoperable malignancy, I sought treatment other than chemotherapy and radiation. I contacted Alternative Cancer Therapies, Inc., and learned about Dr. Wigmore's program at the Hippocrates Health Instittue in Boston, which she founded. My wife and I entered their two-week learn-by-doing program in Boston. What makes this regimen so unique is its emphasis on the importance of cleansing and detoxification as a preliminary phase leading to rejuvenation through the use of the life food diet. We found this approach so helpful in restoring our health and vitality that we have adopted the live food regimen as our own pattern of eating and living. This program, as in my case, offers the best alternative for people who are suffering from inoperable diseases.

I've enjoyed reading Dr. Wigmore's latest of her many publications, "Why You Don't Need to Grow Old" and feel that readers in general will find it of great value. Many will want to incorporate the message into their way of life because of the many benefits that will follow. I must emphasize that the program is not just a diet but is founded on many general principles, such as the power of the mind, importance of attitude, exercise, colon care, etc. It is, therefore, a total lifestyle.

Up to this time, the results of this program in the control of malignancies has been based on thousands of case studies. Because of this, the scientific world should be profoundly interested in the physiological effects on the human body following an incorporation of the live food diet into one's daily routine.

I understand that Western Medicine has had to combat the influence of unbalanced and faddist diets in order to protect the public. Therefore, their approach to the radical introduction of a program which includes fruits, vegetables, fresh greens, baby greens, soaked and sprouted seeds, grains and nuts, replete with enzymes and chlorophyll, has been either to dismiss the diet or to exercise ultra-caution. They have done this because many people find it difficult to incorporate its practices into their daily lives. However, when the medical profession realizes that there are sufficient proteins in an easy-to-digest form as amino acids, complete minerals and trace mineral daily requirements, and no levels of dangerous fats and oils, their attitude will (and has - Dr. Flora's 2 cents) become more amenable.

I hope and anticipate that the results of these case studies will continue to confirm and reinforce Dr. Wigmore's findings on the efficacy of this program in the amelioration of the aging process and restoration of total health through disciplined dietary habits.

New efforts should be exerted to initiate clinical studies with diagnosis and scientific documentation of the findings including all appropriate laboratory tests and x-rays. All the scientific findings available to date show no reports of adverse effects beyond the temporary difficulty of overcoming addictive foods and drinks.

It's my fervent hope that the American Medical Society will not summarily dismiss this program as purely anecdotal before results of scientific investigation are completed, and that they would encourage people to take advantage of this alternative, if they so desire."

Dr. Heller had no more problems with erectile dysfunction once he got off dairy and animal products, fish and fowl and got into electric food, mixing his watermelon and apples with his greens quite nicely and peacefully. He uses no salt but soaked dulse, no acid vinegars, no citrus, no nightshades. No Braggs (poison), no nama shoyu. No concentrated sweetener like agave syrup. No dead proteins like raw (really dead) canned tahini. Please send this info from Dr. Heller to everyone who might benefit from his confidence and his medical history. Dr. Flora prays that you will stick with the Real Ann Wigmore Energy Soup, and use plenty of weeds like lambs quarter and purslane like she did the last 2 years of her life, save your seeds, and use local fruits. Remember, you only get electrical energy from fresh fruits.

Worldwide Obesity Epidemic

This past Wed., a famous researcher spoke to the listening audience of medical doctors in the teleconference put on by PCRM (Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine). He shared a map of the world where the most dark spots were people who were more than 30% overweight or obese. I was shocked to see Australia, Mexico, many parts of China, Japan, the fertile crescent area countries, in those most dark spots - thinking that they would mostly come from Russia, Northern Canada and Alaska, as well as the US.

He said in his talk and in his published reports that it was from the vegetable oils and soda pops, watching tv and the greater availability of processed foods and animal products that people are obese now. And, it was affecting the women more than men. Also, that people of African and oriental descent were having more problems with heart disease and diabetes, with less help, because the fat is stored in their livers and heart areas instead of being disbursed as it does in Nordic or cold country peoples. A photo of a woman in Egypt in front of tvs she was selling was shocking because she was so large. The worst foods he mentioned were soda and pizza.

This triggered my memory about how when people fry food in vegetable oils, or add vegetable oils (yes, even the best virgin virgin olive oils), that the oils react with the starches and the animal proteins and create a super-glue type of bond that prevents the body from sweating the oil out.

Another thing: I was given a whole lot of baby food this month to share with others: much of it was organic. The 3 brands all had vitamin C added, to even step 1 (around 6 months), and some had calcium added.

I offered it to my ESOL class mothers, and one mother tasted about 3 types before she took it and then put the bottles back. I didn't ask her why but decided to look at them myself. I tasted a little of each and immediately got a headache, which affected my brain stem, and then was affected by a cramp in my left hand which has lasted for almost a week, weakening my grip and then also a stomach ache. I then began to crave more almond cream than I normally would use, and more avocado. My body was trying to heal itself from the acid of the calcium and vitamin C destruction in my epithelial lining. WOW!

Do you suppose the colic that babies have has a lot to do with the vitamin C and the calcium they are putting in the baby food? My throat got sore (some wheatgrass juice helped that) and my ear canals felt swollen and sore (the wheat grass juice helped all of the symptoms, except the weakness in my left hand, which I think is coming from my 7th and 8th vertebra damage by the C and calcium). I know how to heal this, with some fresh pineapple juice and energy soup, but I thought you might be able to share this with some young mothers who might be at their wits end wondering why their babies are unhappy.

Breast milk is all a baby needs until the 2nd year, with some wonderful  coconut juice, papaya, avocado, etc. as supplement after the 6th month. We need to get together and complain to the companies to get those supplements out of the babies' food. I spoke at the 2nd Calcium Conference at NIH about how according to the French doctor Kirvran we didn't need any calcium to make our bones stronger, just foods with potassium, maganesium and silica, which turn into bone calcium, and even then the supplement people were lobbying the doctors to add calcium, which does nothing but plaque onto our arteries and the exterior of our bones and cause lumps and early heart attacks (women spill calcium in their blood just before having a heart attack) and arthritis. We need to save the babies inner peace.

Tomatos and Other Nightshades

There are some of us, Jim, who cannot eat nightshades like tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants, peppers and cannot be around people who smoke because their exhale is full of the nightshade residues, since tobacco is a nightshade. This causes arthritis, phlebitis, neuritis, and other 'itis' pains.

The only way I can teach yoga each week to hundreds of 3 and 4 year old children at the YWCAs all over Miami-Dade County is that I am very careful about not using nightshades. One splash of tobasco sauce (and I didn't put it on my food), like I experienced at a conference 2 weeks ago, and I am crippled days.

Subject: Just in case you missed the lecture tonight, here's a very brief summary of Brian and Anna Marie Clement's talk (2 December 2007)

Never mix fruits and veggies (watermelon is a veggie, so it and greens are ok)

Don't mix proteins and starches because if makes gas and alcohol - nuts and crackers are a good example - your body will make alcohol in 20 - 45 minutes

no proteins and starchy carbs - root vegetables

If you have cancer bacterial infection, lyme disease, fungal disease, diabetes - no fruits until you get well. Afterward, just 15% of your diet should be fruits.

In CA, oranges are picked green and sprayed orange ('color enhanced'); in FL they ripen in April but are picked in November and are acid.

Children can eat up to 40% ripe fruit

80 oz. of fluid (that includes smoothies and energy soups) a day for a 160 pound person is necessary

Put distilled water in a window for 20 minutes after you add some minerals (a little dulse is ok - I use a tablespoon and blend it in a cup of water and then pour it back into the glass pitcher and put it in the window.

Do saunas to sweat

If you can't get distilled water, organized molecule water/living water by Dr. Higgins in CA

Pure (not flavored) Smart water is good and alkaline

Thanksgiving with the Andressohns

Andressohnfamilyasp Went to visit and Lamoy was busy with her children in the kitchen preparing her feast. I really enjoyed having 'our' little Joy playing all over us!

The children are so healthy and the home they are renting is up for sale. Their yard is looking like a jungle with papayas hanging heavy on their trees, and so many fruits and vegetables, coconuts and other goodies peeking out from behind leaves. I took them a monstera deliciosa plant and ripe fruit. I also took many boxes of donated Paradise Farms baby greens and a case of their organic avocados.

They are still up against the wall financially, so I hope that some viewers will share their abundance with them. I took the children some clothes and toys, too. I love that family and what they are doing for their children. I then went to Paradise Farms Organic Farms and spent some time with Gabrielle and on to the Everglades International Hostel in Florida City where to my delight, there were many vegan dishes at their feast, as Owhnn has returned from Puerto Rico with ideas she has turned into reality: a raw food kitchen for the hostelers.

So, if any people are coming to visit South Miami area or the Keys, $25 will get them a student dorm room and the best raw vegan food available.

Cancer as a product of our environment

Doctor's Forum tonight was Dr. Kushi, who is the son of the famous macrobioligist, Michio

His work on a committee that showed the incidence of increased or decreased risk of cancers was interesting: the skin cancer showed a correlation with having arsenic in the bathing/drinking water; the 2 worst factors for lung cancer were taking betacarotene as a supplement! and drinking or showering/bathing in arsenic contaminated water.

Decreased risk was shown for other cancers if one eats apples, red grapes, onions, citrus, broccoli, tea, and other quercetin containing foods, non-starchy vegetables and vegetables containing selenium. Fruits were one of the two highest recommended foods.

Concern about aflatoxins in grains, pecans, peanuts, pistachios, potatoes, dairy and walnuts was high on the list of risks. He mentioned red meat and processed meat like hotdogs, bologne and salami, highly salted fish, as bad, and good were cooked tomato sauce (3 x more absorbable than fresh, he stated), pink grapefruit, watermelon, and more than 50 other yellow, orange, and brown/red or green leafy veggies good to eat. Body fatness was a risk.

He personally said that they didn't go far enough in indicting dairy and animal protein and the people being used in the studies are giving the researchers what they want to hear, but their fat intake didn't change at all, that's why there has been lousy press lately about lack of results on low fat diets: they weren't low fat at all!

Dangers of the new chocolate

Am reading now how dangerous the new chocolate candy is that won't melt in your hands or heart, liver, fingers or toes! Anything so highly processed that the Gulf soldiers won't have to end up with messy fingers is like plastic in one's body.

One loses all feeling in one's fingers and toes, feet swell up and the heart gives up.

Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease - a book review

     After hearing him in person, I was delighted today to get my Earth Save News, July 2007 and read: "A groundbreaking program backed by the irrefutable results from Dr. Esselstyn's 20-year study proving changes in diet and nutrition can actually cure heart disease.

     Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States for men and women. But, as Dr. Caldwell B. Esselstyn, Jr., a former internationally known surgeon, researcher and clinician at the Cleveland Clinic, explains in this book, it can be prevented, reversed, and even abolished. Dr. Esselstyn argues that conventional cardiology has failed patients by developing treatments that focus only on the symptoms of heart disease, not the cause.

     Based on the groundbreaking results of his 20 year nutritional study - the longest study of its kind ever conducted - this book explains, with irrefutable scientific evidence, how we can end the heart disease epidemic in this country forever by changing what we eat.

     Dr. Esselstyn convincingly argues that a plant-based, oil-free diet cannot only prevent and stop the progression of heart disease, but also reverse its effects.

     The proof is in the results. The patients in Dr. Esselstyn's initial study came to him with advanced coronary artery disease.      Cardiac events: The patients in the study had 49 cardiac events in the years leading up to the study, and had undergone aggressive treatment procedures. Several had multiple bypass operations. After beginning the eating of plants, there were no more cardiac events in the group within a 12 year period.

     Angiogram evidence: Angiograms taken of the participants in the study show a widening  of the coronary arteries, and thus a reversal of the disease.

     Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease offers readers the same simple, nutrition-based plan that dramatically changed the lives of this patients forever. With this eating plan, sufferers of heart disease will maintain cholesterol levels low enough to ensure that they will never have a heart attack.      Dr. Esselstyn wrote: "Recent weeks have witnessed a collapse of the drugs and technology which form the present backbone of cardiology's assault on the coronary artery disease epidemic. ..Pfizer, in late December 2006, announced its long hoped for block-buster new drug Torcetrapib was killing more people in its test run than were dying in the control group. Pfizer had spent more $800 million in developing this drug to raise HDL, 'good' cholesterol and had openly forecast it would reap billions for the company once it came into production.

     "But the research trial was clear and unequivocal with its results. Among 15,000 patients, 82 died taking Torcetrapib and 51 died taking a standard drug to lower cholesterol. Additionally, the Torcetrapib group experienced a greater number of cardiac events such as angina, heart failure, and a need for angioplasty. The independent monitoring group advised Pfizer to halt the trial and they complied. The unfathomable mysteries of human metabolism could not tolerate the assault of this drug. It was making vascular disease worse, not better.

     "The double whammy for cardiology also developed in the second half of 2006. Reports from Europe in September 2006 indicated that patients utilizing the new drug eluting stents were suddenly having heart attacks and some were dying. ...it was disturbing to cardiologists and remains frightening for patients.

     "When an artery to the heart is severely narrowed and causing symptoms cardiologists insert a balloon tipped catheter to the area of blockage and expand the balloon to widen the constriction. The benefit of this angioplasty is lost in 50% of patients because of recurrent constriction in 6 months. Placing a metal scaffold or stent improves the results to only 10-20% recurrent narrowing.

     "Starting in 2003, the stents were coated with a drug which diminished the rate of recurrent blockage after angioplasty. However, it is essential to maintain patients on an anti-clotting drug for 6-12 months to prevent the stent from developing a clot or thrombosis. It now appears that after stopping the anti-clotting drug, 1 in 200 or 0.5% (5,000 nationwide) and 10,000 persons worldwide will have a heart attack and 50% of these will die when the stent fails.

     "These results have so upset cardiologists and the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) that a national conference was called in December 2006 to review this disturbing news. Watching intently and participating were the stent manufacturers Johnson and Johnson and Boston Scientific. Billions of dollars were at stake.

     "Following testimony, experts contend that for patients with uncomplicated disease, the benefits of the drug coated stents outweigh the risks. For patients with more advanced or complicated disease patterns, the outlook is less clear and more research data is required. What is clear is that everyone feels it may be necessary to prolong the period of requiring the anti-clotting drug Plavix from months to years or indefinitely.

     "However, Plavix is not without complications: it promotes bleeding, which may mean a gastrointestinal hemorrhage as well as easy bruising. The most desperate situations occur when a patient taking Plavix must stop it for dental work, hip or other major surgery and colonoscopy. Will they have a heart attack or die from a stent clot when Plavix is stopped? This scenario has occurred and is continuously encountered. It is as if a therapy for one disease now is painting patients into a corner from which they cannot escape when other illnesses require surgical therapy.

     "This Gordian knot has lead leading cardiologists to question stent therapy.

     "Dr. Eric Topol, a member of the conference panel stated, "There's a much more liberal use of angioplasty and stenting than there needs to be."

     "The head cardiologist at Kaiser Permanente, Dr. Calvin L. Weisberger added, 'A large pool of angioplasties and by-pass surgery are being done without scientific evidence.'

     "The hard science - which seems not to be prominent in all these discussions - is that it is not the major blockages which are treated by angioplasty and stents which account for heart attacks. The small unstable juvenile arterial plaques are prone to rupture and cause over 85% of heart attacks, and they are not treated by angioplasty or by-pass surgery. Then why do cardiologists treat the blockages unlikely to cause the heart attacks? There is a lingering belief that somehow the patient will be improved by widening the opening, and there is the unspoken force of money - huge guaranteed money from doing these procedures.

     "Then there is the harshest critic of all - scientific research. Study after study indicates for most patients undergoing angioplasties and stents, there is no increase in survival and no decrease in heart attacks.

     "Why might this be a time to rejoice? The morbidity, mortality, expense and transient benefits of a high technology approach toward the coronary disease epidemic has failed. It is time to realize that the answer to a faulty lifestyle epidemic is not drugs and technology - it is lifestyle.

     "The epidemiologic evidence that coronary artery disease does not exist in cultures consuming plant-based nutrition is robust and overwhelming. There is clear evidence that cultures which switch from a plant-based diet to a western diet develop an epidemic of coronary heart disease. Lewis Kuller, Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburg School of Public Health, based on his 10 year cardiovascular health study states: "all males 65 years of age or older who have been exposed to the traditional western diet have cardiovascular disease and should be treated as such."

     "This toxic diet with its burden of animal protein, dairy, processed oils, white flour products, sugar and excess saturated and trans fats and free radicals marinates in our bodies injuring our delicate cellular matrix with every bite at every meal. Science shows us how this occurs. We depend mightily on the capacity of our endothelial cells, which comprise the single cell layer lining our arteries, to manufacture nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is the strongest vasodilator in the body. (Dr. Flora interjects: watermelon and fresh papaya and home-ripened pineapple juice from outside the body going in do a fine job of vasodilating when the oxide is low until the body can catch up! Salt is a vasoconstrictor. Throw it away.) It causes blood vessels to enlarge, prevents blood flow from being sticky or sluggish, and inhibits arterial plaque formation.

     "The brachial artery tourniquet test quantifies the endothelial responses. The test requires an ultrasound measure of the diameter of the brachial artery below the elbow before and after an upper arm tourniquet stops blood flow to the forearm for 5 minutes. Normally, when the cuff is released and the brachial artery ultrasound measurement is repeated, the artery dilates or widens. This occurs from a healthy out-pouring of nitric oxide from the endothelium. When volunteers consume cornflakes, their brachial artery test is normal. If they consume sausage, olive oil, or saturated fat, they fail the test. The ingested fat so injures the endothelium that it cannot produce nitric oxide. Regular consumption of the toxic western menu is a cardiovascular disaster. The time is long overdue to challenge the failure of drugs and technology to stop the coronary disease epidemic.

     "The natural next question is can patients who have severe coronary artery disease arrest and reverse this disease by consuming a totally plant-based diet?

     "Dr. Dean Ornish (PCRM) and this author have investigated this question through scientific peer reviewed study. Dr. Ornish reported his results at one year and again at 5 years and most recently at 21 years in a book for the public Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease, Avery/Penguin, February 2007.

     "These studies indicate that fully compliant patients decrease the episodes of angina or eliminate them, decrease their cholesterol, decrease their weight, increase their exercise capacity, and arrest and selectively reverse their disease on follow-up x-rays of the coronary arteries. Seeing these patients thrive beyond 20 years of initiating their plant-based therapy is the most powerful reason for wanting the cardiology community to embrace and utilize plant-based nutrition.

     "There is no morbidity, mortality or added expense with plant-based nutrition and benefits endure and improve with the passage of time. Cardiologists say they doubt that patients will follow such a nutritional change. My experience in counseling hundreds of these patients indicates this concern is flatly not true. As a matter of fact, patients rejoice in the knowledge that they have become the leader/locus of control over the disease that was destroying them and are distraught that they were never told of this option by their cardiologist.

     "In summary, the dark shadow cast over cardiology, through failure of its miracle drug and the melt-down of drug eluting stents with unforeseen clotting resulting in heart attacks and death should motivate us to look more closely at a proven therapy which is effective and endures and has the potential to eliminate the coronary heart disease epidemic, as well as other chronic western illness such as strokes, hypertension, adult onset diabetes, obesity, impotence and dementia."

T. Colin Campbell of The China Study speaks in Florida

Last night, In Central Florida, we were honored by hearing from Dr. T. Colin Campbell, for the second time in the past few days, and this time in person, not just on the PCRM (Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine) interactive teleseminar for doctors. (see PCRM@PCRM.com for further information) The National Health Association's annual conference was being held and they deserve a big hand for allowing people like me, who are so busy that normally they can't get away for an hour, to attend free. There was an overflow audience. Many friends were there and many of them are Natural Hygienists. I hope you all hook into Raw Vegan Radio to hear Vik Kulvinskas' hour long interview about his take on the latter movement's dietary habits and the impending Sedona meeting of the Raw Spirit group. Computers have made the comparison of everyone's choices an instant subject of intellectual and wise discussion!

Dr. Campbell was animated and armed with very effective slides which told the tale, and impressed the audience with his thoroughly scientific proof that dairy turned on tumors/cancer and a plant-based diet turned them off, and on, and off, etc. It was amazing to watch the lines go up and down on the charts, depending on whether or not casein (the enemy in dairy products, the dangerous protein that causes our bodies [especially women] to initiate an immune system response and ultimate exhaustion). The story is simply put, that it's not the fat we have to worry so much about (although more than 2 ounces at a time is really stressing out your liver because it has to start storing it since it can't handle more than that at one time), but the dairy protein casein. So, even in skim milk usage, the cancer will still turn on, because even though the extrusion process breaks the fat cells down into smaller blobs, the protein casein is still in it and it will still lead us to the debilitating (correct spelling please, if necessary) diseases of diabetes, heart disease, cancer, etc.

I was with the father of a friend of mine who loaned me her car because mine is out of commision (I need $1,500 to get it fixed and this is not a good time to come up with that kind of spare change!) and he needed to go so I missed the question and answer time and hope that was also taped so that I can hear it later. Please help this geniuis raw food doctor (who started out on a cattle farm, went to college to learn how to get more protein into the animals we were eating and who now has made a 180 degree turnaround, as he is now a raw vegan) assert himself with the government. He needs our support so that his careful studies and results can be pivotal in changing the disease care system we now have to a true health care system. Buy his book "The China Study" and prepare yourself to join him in this battle for our children's and grandchildren's well being and health.

The graphs and charts of the clusters of nordic countries like Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Germany, down to England and then the U.S. show why we are so sick. The amount of dairy we use is horrendous. The cluster at the opposite end of the chart, starting with zero cancers in southeast asia (except for the people who eat raw fish, by the way) who are in real troubles now there), show how great a plant based diet is.

He is right on the verge of becoming a radical for health and he needs our support to confront the AMA and the federal government over this. We need to break down the FDA  (the Food and Drug Administration) into two separate parts, The Food Administration and the Drug Administration, because both are not able to be put in the same boat together. Please seek him out at Cornell University and give him your support. He has the material to force people who make the laws to wake up and make a difference in our health.

I am sitting on the floor hysterical crying and ready to give up on life. I have MS for 6 years and just recently had a bad flare-up. My entire left side of my body from head to toe is numb and extremely weak. I also have numbness in my right hand but not as bad as my left. I was diagnosed in 2001 , presenting with dizziness and vertigo. I never went on the drugs and  went on a vegan diet . I did well for 5 years and then in '05 took a stressful job and started eating junk .

Stress is a mess on your body when you don't have rejuvelac and veggikraut, dulse and seed and nut cheeses to feed you the b-complex vitamins.

I had my second flare-up that year wich was severe optic nueritis in the right eye. Till this day it never cleared up. My left eye is fine but my right eye only has 20/400 vision. So I then tried a raw meat diet called the primal diet  because I thought that it would enhance my nerve re-building. The creator of this diet strongly advocates raw egg for the vitamin A /D content. I had a raw egg and here I am.... a mess... I am obviously allergic to eggs.

I don't know if you had an organic egg or not, but it's still animal protein which cultures bacteria, viruses and parasites, and I suggest strongly that you get a copy of Dr. Hulda Clark's book, "The Cure for All Diseases" to give you an idea of what's going on. She is moving closer to veganism every day, it seems, since that book was written. To me, the most awful and dangerous food you can eat for the rest of your life is dairy, in all forms: even a tiny bit of the casein (a protein) triggers an immune response that makes every part of your body respond in defense and just wears you out, dear.

You should be proud of yourself that you are searching and that God has chosen you to have such a strong body that you can overcome all of this pain and suffering if you just remember that pathogens grow in our bodies in cooked foods and that our bodies need food with electric current (no cooked food, oil, canned, fried, etc. will carry an electric current or old (older than 1 hour after being processed: i.e. blended, or juiced) raw food either. I would encourage you to use some energy soup: 1/2 a blender of watermelon or organic papaya or apples blended with 1 tablespoon of soaked dulse leaf (a purple seaweed that contains every mineral and trace mineral that exists plus B12) and flax seeds (for the EFAs), and 1 package or 2 packed cups of organic dark green leafy greens, mixed with parsley, dandelion (no spinach), half a dozen figs that are raw or reconstituted, and pour the blend into a bowl and dice 1/4th (2 ounces) of a small avocado in the am and 12 soaked overnight, rinsed and blended organic almonds in the p.m.

Eat this as often as you wish, chewing every mouthful 30 times at least before you swallow it, and think only about the wonderful food that is sharing it's energy with you.

Look at PCRM@PCRM.com and learn that 5,000 plus medical doctors have become vegan and are moving closer to raw every day, Later on, when you are well, you will be able to do the Coco pulse test to determine what you are allergic to. The energy soup will give you all of the nutrients you need for now.

Eating raw and food allergies - Dr. Flora responds

Will I be able to eat raw to get enough vitamins and minerals for my body if I am allergic to raw apples, peaches, plums, cherries, berries, black grapes, star fruit, kiwi, pomegranet, soy, rye, certain nuts, etc, etc.???

I just don't have many foods that I am able to eat raw.  If processed for some reason in one way or another I can eat some of the above, but this is hard and I seem to lose foods more and more as time goes on.

Can anyone there help direct me to someone who can answer these questions?  I am 50 years old and fasting alot too in hopes of ridding my body of toxins.

Who tested you and found that you are allergic to those? What kinds of symptoms do you have when you eat them? What kind of nuts, and are they soaked before you have tried to eat them? Were the grapes, peaches, apples, etc. organic? Are you familiar with food-blood type issues? I can't eat any of the most polluted with pesticides and insecticides foods, because of the reaction to the sprays or even the solvents that they spray on the rollers that bring the fruits and vegetables to the boxes. I reacted violently the other day to something that was rolled to packaging and had to investigate and found that the rollers on the machine had been sprayed with teflon. Petroleum biproducts are the worst stuff. Kills canaries and kills us! And yet, they still sell teflon pans and teflon coated ironing boards and irons.

I just don't have many foods that I am able to eat raw.

I would quote from someone else that 80% of raw foods will give people trouble with 'allergic reactions' if they are not prepared properly. For me to try to eat cabbage, carrots or beets without autolyzing them first by making them into sauerkraut/veggikraut, I will get bloated/distended abdomen/have pain/gas/reflux, etc. If I eat Ranier cherries that are not organic, I will have terrible pains in my body. Star fruit and kiwi are too acid for me, and rye has a certain mold that is very dangerous. All these reasons are why Dr. Wigmore stuck with the foods that were non-reactive, non-allergenic, like most greens (not spinach, watercress), and watermelon and apples, papaya and most organic fruits, non-citrus.

Once you have a peaceful inside, with just half a dozen items in a blended form, figs, almonds, flax seeds soaked, greens, sesame/sunflower seed cheese, dulse, kelp, mangos, papaya, home-ripened pineapple juice, you will then be able to add one new food (usually one of your favorites that you reacted to earlier), and using something called the Coco pulse test, see if your heart pulse rate increases by 15-18 beats per minute and if it does, this is not a good food for you. 

If processed for some reason in one way or another I can eat some of the above, but this is hard and I seem to lose foods more and more as time goes on.

My bottom line is energy, that's why I eat Energy Soup and that is why a lot of people do. I don't require much variety and make it the same way most all of the time, with just a few various greens, and watermelon or apples (I prefer Gala).

Have you read any of Dr. Sherri Rogers' books on allergies? It sounds as if you are so toxic that you are approaching what she calls universal allergic reactions.

At your age, I wouldn't suggest fasting with water. If you do a blender drink 'fast' you will not only eliminate the toxins, but keep your strength up and rebuild nerves, etc. I of course recommend a vegan diet to keep your body from having to deal with inflammatory foods/chemicals/enzymes, and also for the time being, avoid totally the nightshades and check back with us in 3 or 4 weeks. You should feel great.

I am Diabetic and have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia recently. I am scheduled to go to a local Pain Clinic tomorrow for injections.

I have been eating well and exercising, but am still in a lot of physical pain. Is there anything you know of that will work more directly on my pain? I will keep researching, but just thought I would ask.

Colin Campbell: 7/18/07:  Professor Emeritus of Nutritional Biochemistry at Cornell University, who has published The China Study concerning the Chinese lack of cancers because they don't use dairy in many places. "I started out wanting to learn more about how to get higher levels of protein from animals. Then, I saw children under the age of 4 coming up with liver cancer and wanted to know why. In India, rats being experimented on for the same kind of cancers, came up with that cancer with increased intake of animal protein. Then I went to VA tech for 27 years to find the answer to the question “Was it really true that extra protein intake would turn on this type of cancer?” The animals were exposed to chemical carcinogens. Could it have been that? When fed an amount of protein in excess than what is needed for good nutrition, cancer followed. Nutrition had a dramatic effect on cancer. When higher levels of protein were fed, cancers were turned on.

Principles - The major discovery was that we could turn on cancer by feeding milk protein. The effect of cow's milk protein on initiating cancer was greater than any other kind of protein's effect, even though there were multiple mechanisms that turned it on. It was a question of plant-based protein turning cancer off. Animal protein turning cancer on.

We were involved in a large nationwide survey in the People's Republic of China. For about a dozen different kinds of cancers, the people were consuming too much protein. Lower prote
