Wheatgrass exposed

Wheatgrass Exposed
by Christopher Stewart

WheatgrassKits.com

Has anyone ever noticed that people of our       world eat so many quantities of wheat (normally in highly processed and       lifeless, enzymeless forms like breads, bagels, donuts, pizza, cookies,       and desserts?) Do they realize that the near nutritional benefit and       healing power of wheat is hidden in the wheat berry (or seed)       itself?

Wheatgrass, which is the 10 to 14 days grown grass,       contains the entire range of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and nutrients       that your body requires. Whereas wheat's more popular form of dead food       products consumed by millions of uneducated people is totally void of life       or health-giving properties.

Although the leading body experts,       know as doctors, pharmacists, dietitians and scientists have been aware       for well over 60 years (possibly centuries) about the miraculous qualities       of wheatgrass and chlorophyll, they seemed to have left it up to us to       "discover it." Thanks to caring people like Ann Wigmore and Victoras       Kulvinskas, countless numbers of people have been given a new lease on       life, better health and peace of mind using wheatgrass juice and living       foods.

Wheatberries, like all other sprout seeds, reminds us that       life force or innate healing power is hidden within us. When we expose and       release this energy (like sprouting does for seeds) by drinking or       applying wheatgrass, our bodies and minds regenerate into the strong       beautiful and healthy forms they were created to become.

The simple       things life offers us still contain not only amazing answers to our       seemingly most difficult human conditions, but also teach us the basic       laws for true happiness and survival.

As a survival food, storing       wheat berries is in my opinion, a must. Not only because you can live off       wheatgrass, if necessary, but you can also turn wheat berry sprouts into       an incredible variety of foods. Some of these include sprouted breads,       cookies, sprouted pizza, desserts, rejuvelac, sprouted wheat germ, and       wheat milk. You can use the wheatgrass pulp for external wounds,       blemishes, rashes, and bruises. And with even more imagination, the       wheatgrass juice can be taken internally through other areas (eyes, ears,       and nose) and can benefit all possible ailments. If you are ever without       other herbs, essential oils, or remedies, wheat berries are a complete       first aid kit the Creator has given us.

Give your body, your most       sacred possession, the gift of life and love. Wheatgrass! May the juice be       with you!

Health, beauty, cleansing and energy with wheatgrass

Wheat7 Something so supremely simple as grass can give us a lifetime of better health. I hope to convince you to use it as food, medicine and an overall tonic for various ailments. Of course, nothing can replace a sound diet, exercise, and a positive attitude, but wheat grass will give added strength to combat life’s pitfalls.

Much of the degeneration and illness we suffer is from the lack of life and vitality in our foods. Yes, even us vegetarians have terrible diets. You must have a diet of live foods to survive; as soon as you cook something it dies, killing all the enzymes and many vitamins and mineral needed to be healthy. Wheat grass is full of enzymes, vitamins, minerals and amino acids. AND, as Jim Corcoran swears -- by phytonutrients.

One of the most important and amazing ingredients in wheatgrass is chlorophyll. It is, in essence, liquid energy from the sun. It is the life force that nature uses to explode plants into greenery every Spring, plant blood. Chlorophyll cleans the blood, increases the function of the heart, improves colon functioning. It is practically identical to human blood except that magnesium is in its nucleus instead of iron.

Now many of you know that I’m the green drink lady because I am trying to get all of you to drink a green tonic every day. Many people who have done this drink them religiously since I began talking about it, and have commented to me that they are now feeling healthier and are seeing improvement in health concerns. Why not make your green drink even more powerful by adding your own wheatgrass to the juice each day? It is very powerful and incredibly easy to make. Here’s what you do:

spacerspacer 1. Buy bulk wheatberries at Whole Foods. They are very cheap.
spacerspacer 2. Wash then soak a portion of the berries in a jar for 12 hours. The jar should be tilted at a 45 degree angle. The amount you use depends on how big of a tray of grass you want. The sprouts should have what looks like little white tails sticking out of each seed. If there is a bad smell or any mold start over. Don’t put the jar in the sun.
spacerspacer 3. Using a plastic tray about 1 ½ in. deep put in about an inch of topsoil, mixed with peat moss, from your organic garden, (no chemicals please), or buy a bag of soil and peat. You can add a tablespoon of Kelp powder to give trace minerals to the soil, too.
spacerspacer 4. Spread the seeds out on the top of the soil, do not cover them. The seeds should be touching each other very closely.
spacerspacer 5. Spray the seeds with water to make them damp, not swampy.
spacerspacer 6. Take a second tray and cover the seeds for two to three days, keeping it moist and dark.
spacerspacer 7. Uncover the tray when the grass is about one inch high and put in indirect sun light. If you see mold start over. Try less water next time.
spacerspacer 8. Water every day and the grass will be ready when it is 7 to 10 inches tall. I keep mine out on my deck where it gets lots of indirect light. You can grow it inside in the winter too.
spacerspacer 9. Cut a portion of the grass as close to the soil as you can and put it in your green drink with your other greens to juice.

Now you have a very powerful mineral substance to drink that will give you nothing but vitality and energy. A small investment in time and effort will help you on the road to perfect health and long life. If you have any problem with growing wheatgrass, please email me with your questions and I’ll be happy to reply.

More about wheatgrass

Wheat5_1 Wheatgrass Juice is a powerful cleanser and may start an immediate reaction with toxins and mucus in the stomach, possibly causing nausea.

Brooks Blackwell replied, “I always tell people who think Wheatgrass is gross that the key (for me) was NOT slamming it back like a tequila shooter - but rather holding it in one's mouth until it predigests in the mouth -  (I check my email whilst I "hold" the wheatgrass). Eliminated the stomach upset completely.”

What is wheatgrass?

Wheatgrass is a plant that is grown from the Red Wheat Berry, a special strain of wheat that produces high concentrations of chlorophyll, active enzymes, vitamins and other nutrients. Wheatgrass is one of the richest sources of vitamins A, complete B complex, B-17, C, E and K. In addition, it is an excellent source of Calcium, Potassium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorous, Sodium, Sulphur, Cobalt, Zinc, 17 amino acids, and enzymes as a body cleanser.

Wheatgrass Juice is a powerful cleanser and may start an immediate reaction with toxins and mucus in the stomach, possibly causing nausea. Chlorophyll brings out toxins into the bloodstream that have been stored in cells or fatty tissue. Start with one to two ounces and work up to more slowly. Drink it on an empty stomach as a bodybuilder, as an energizer, and as an appetite suppressant.

Wheatgrass juice is very high in enzymes and chlorophyll. It contains up to 70% chlorophyll, an important blood builder. The chlorophyll molecule closely resembles that of the hemin molecule, the pigment that combines with protein to form hemoglobin. The major difference is that the chlorophyll molecule contains magnesium as its central atom, and the hemin molecule contains iron. The molecular structure of these two substances is virtually identical in every other respect.

The starch of the wheat berry is stored energy that, when converted to simpler sugar, is quick energy source. It is especially good for athletes because it is a juice and is absorbed in 20 minutes. Wheat picks up 92 of the 102 minerals in the soil and contains all the vitamins that science has isolated. Because one ounce of juice equals two pounds of produce nutritionally, it naturally shuts off the appetite in the brain.

40 medically proven points about wheatgrass and its nutritional values

From WheatGrassKits.com

What's so great about wheatgrass?
40 Medically Proven Points about Wheatgrass and its Nutritional Values

1 Wheatgrass Juice is one of the best sources of living chlorophyll available.
2 Chlorophyll is the first product of light and, therefore, contains more light energy than any other element.
3 Wheatgrass juice is a crude chlorophyll and can be taken orally and as a colon implant without toxic side effects.
4 Chlorophyll is the basis of all plant life.
5 Wheatgrass is high in oxygen like all green plants that contain chlorophyll. The brain and all body tissues function at an optimal level in a highly-oxygenated environment.
6 Chlorophyll is anti-bacterial and can be used inside and outside the body as a healer.
7 Dr. Bernard Jensen says that it only takes minute  to digest wheatgrass juice and uses up very little body energy.
8 Science has proven that chlorophyll arrests growth and development of unfriendly bacteria.
9 Chlorophyll (wheatgrass) rebuilds the bloodstream.  Studies of various animals have shown chlorophyll to be free of any toxic reaction. The red cell count was returned to normal within 4 to 5 days of the administration of chlorophyll, even in those animals which were known to be extremely anemic or low in red cell count.
10 Farmers in the Midwest who have sterile cows and bulls put them on wheatgrass to restore fertility.  (The high magnesium content in chlorophyll builds enzymes that restore the sex       hormones.)
11 Chlorophyll can be extracted from many plants, but wheatgrass is superior because it has been found to have over 100 elements needed by man. If grown in organic soil, it absorbs 92 of the known 102 minerals from the soil.
12 Wheatgrass has what is called the grass-juice factor, which has been shown to keep herbivorous animals alive indefinitely.
13 Dr. Ann Wigmore has been helping people get well from chronic disorders for 30 years using wheatgrass.
14 Liquid chlorophyll gets into the tissues, refines them and makes them over.
15 Wheatgrass Juice is a superior detoxification agent compared to carrot juice and other fruits and vegetables. Dr. Earp-Thomas, associate of Ann Wigmore, says that 15 pounds of Wheatgrass is the equivalent of 350 pounds of carrot, lettuce, celery, and so forth.
16 Liquid chlorophyll washes drug deposits from the body.
17 Chlorophyll neutralizes toxins in the body.
18 Chlorophyll helps purify the liver.
19 Chlorophyll improves blood sugar problems.
20 In the American Journal of Surgery (1940), Benjamin Gruskin, M.D. recommends chlorophyll for its antiseptic benefits. The article suggests the following clinical uses for chlorophyll: to clear up foul smelling odors, neutralize strep infections, heal wounds, hasten skin grafting, cure chronic sinusitis, overcome chronic inner-ear inflammation and infection, reduce varicose veins and heal leg ulcers, eliminate impetigo and other scabby eruptions, heal rectal sores, successfully treat inflammation of the uterine cervix, get rid of parasitic vaginal infections, reduce typhoid fever, and cure advanced pyorrhea in many cases.
21 Wheatgrass Juice cures acne and even removes scars after it has been ingested for seven to eight months. The diet must be improved at the same time.
22 Wheatgrass juice acts as a detergent in the body and is used as a body deodorant.
23 A small amount of wheatgrass juice in the human diet prevents tooth decay.
24 Wheatgrass juice held in the mouth for 5 minutes will eliminate toothaches. It pulls poisons from the gums.
25 Gargle Wheatgrass Juice for a sore throat.
26 Drink Wheatgrass Juice for skin problems such as eczema or psoriasis.
27 Wheatgrass Juice keeps the hair from graying.
28 Pyorrhea of the mouth: lay pulp of wheatgrass soaked in juice on diseased area in mouth or chew wheatgrass, spitting out the pulp.
29 By taking Wheatgrass Juice, one may feel a difference in strength, endurance, health, and spirituality, and experience a sense of well-being.
30 Wheatgrass juice improves the digestion.
31 Wheatgrass juice is high in enzymes.
32 Wheatgrass juice is an excellent skin cleanser and can be absorbed through the skin for nutrition. Pour green juice over your body in a tub of warm water and soak for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse off with cold water.
33 Wheatgrass implants (enemas) are great for healing and detoxifying the colon walls. The implants also heal and cleanse the internal organs. After an enema, wait 20 minutes, then       implant 4 ounces of wheatgrass juice. Retain for 20 minutes.
34 Wheatgrass juice is great for constipation and keeping the bowels open.  It is high in       magnesium.
35 Dr. Birscher, a research scientist, called chlorophyll "concentrated sun power." He said, "chlorophyll increases the function of the heart, affects the vascular system, the intestines, the uterus, and the lungs."
36 According to Dr. Birscher, nature uses chlorophyll (wheatgrass) as a body cleanser, rebuilder, and neutralizer of toxins.
37 Wheatgrass juice can dissolve the scars that are formed in the lungs from breathing acid gasses.  The effect of carbon monoxide is minimized since chlorophyll increases hemoglobin       production.
38 Wheatgrass Juice reduces high blood pressure and enhances the capillaries.
39 Wheatgrass Juice can remove heavy metals from the body.
40 Wheatgrass juice is great for blood disorders of all kinds.

Phytonutrients and Wheatgrass

What are Phytonutrients:

Phytonutrients are the active components found in the skins of fruits, vegetables, grains, and seeds that are responsible for pigment, taste and smell. Unlike the traditional nutrients found in protein, fats, vitamins, and minerals, phytonutrients are not "essential" for life; however, they have been shown to be powerful antioxidants that work to promote overall health.

There are over 25,000 different phytonutrients that have been identified in fruits and vegetables. Those foods rich in phytonutrients include tomatoes, green tea, carrots, broccoli, wheatgrass and chlorella. To function at optimal health, the human body needs a wide variety of phytonutrients from a variety of sources. The best way to reap the benefits of phytonutrients is to eat natural, whole foods.

What is Wheatgrass:

The wheatgrass that is certified organic produces high concentrations of chlorophyll, enzymes and vitamins. The wheatgrass seed begins its journey absorbing natural nutrients from a soil prepared using organic methods containing NO genetically engineered products, in preparation to become a tall, fruitful plant. At this stage, the plant has the nutrient profile similar to that of other leafy green vegetables and will continue to grow until these nutrients reach their peak levels, at about three inches in length. Organic wheatgrass contains vitamins A, B complex, C and E, trace elements calcium, iron, magnesium and potassium, enzymes and amino acids. As an antioxidant, organic wheat grass can boost the immune system and scavenge free radicals. Organic wheatgrass has been shown to be a powerful body detoxifier. Its high chlorophyll content cleanses the liver, tissues and cells and purifies the blood. Organic wheatgrass also contains folic acid, iron, and vitamin B-12 which are required for proper red blood cell production.

What is Chlorophyll:

Chlorophyll is the green pigment molecule in plants and is responsible for absorbing the sun's energy for photosynthesis.. Interestingly, the chlorophyll molecule in plants is chemically similar to hemoglobin in human blood. The only difference in the two molecules is that the central atom in chlorophyll is magnesium, whereas in humans it is iron. As a food supplement, chlorophyll can detoxify and purify the blood and liver, help build red blood cells and aid in tissue repair.

What are the other ingredients:

Vitamin A (as Natural Beta Carotene) for improved eye health and to guard against infection;
Vitamin B-2 (Riboflavin) to aid in the release of energy from foods and promote normal growth and development;
Vitamin C to guard against cardiovascular disease, boost immunity, aid in wound healing, help form collagen in connective tissues;
Vitamin D to maintain blood levels of calcium and promote its absorption;
Vitamin K for proper bone and blood function;
Calcium for strong bones and teeth, efficient blood clotting, nerve cell transmission and health muscle contractions;
Potassium for proper electrolyte and fluid balance;
Iron for stimulation of the bone marrow production of hemoglobin (red-blood cell that carries oxygen to other cells)

What is detoxification:

After a period of time, the body builds up toxins and natural waste products from chemicals, pollution and overindulging. A process of cleansing the internal system, or detoxifying, helps rid the body of harmful chemicals that may be contributing to fatigue, illness, pain, and poor digestion. Cleansing can be achieved through various modalities, including fasting, diet, saunas, and a range of whole foods vitamins, herbs, and nutrients.

What does Wheatgrass do for me:

Organic wheat grass detoxifies and oxygenates the blood thereby increasing circulation, energy levels, immune system function and an overall sense of well being from good nourishment. Wheat grass and chlorophyll are phytonutrients rich in amino acids, protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals, enzymes that work together to strengthen immunity.

Why do I need Wheatgrass:

Organic wheatgrass, rich in chlorophyll, enzymes, vitamins and nutrients has been linked to improved health. Some of the benefits of wheatgrass include:
Increase of hemoglobin production;
Rebuilding of the blood stream;
Purifying the blood;
Improving the body's ability to heal wounds;
Neutralizing toxins and carcinogens in the body;
Helping to purify the liver;
Improving digestion;
Removing heavy metals from the body.

Feedback - Ian Clark

Hi Jim,

I read your brief bio in the wheatgrasskits.com email today. What a great testimony and I really appreciate where are you are coming from and what you are now doing to help others. I just recently found out about the benefits of wheatgrass and have started growing the grass and sunflower sprouts at home (planting and harvesting 8 trays a day now).

We have seven children of which all are on the Wheatgrass juice and Sunflower sprouts throughout the day plus eating 99% raw living foods. The children are still moving through the final transition to completely raw food. I am drinking about 10 ounces a day of the wheatgrass juice and about 12 ounces of the sunflower sprout juice and am starting to see remarkable changes. Fortunately, I was told about using ocean solution to feed the plants and that made a huge difference with the 90 plus minerals in the grass. The Sunflower sprouts apparently absorb a bit less minerals but are still very powerful. Are you using any ocean solution for your grass also?

I have lost about 85 pounds so far and feel like I am 21 again. I expect to go through a lot more detox and cleansing in general over the next year or two. The person that showed me this beautiful way of giving the body nutrition has been doing this for the last 2 years and is an amazing example of excellent health.

Looking forward to your reply,

Kind Regards,

Wheatgrass and cancer

Wheat5 If we look at oxygen as a bullet to kill cancer cells, then we should look at wheatgrass as a shotgun blast at treating cancer. The number of ways it deals with cancer is incredible.

First of all, it contains chlorophyll, which has almost the same molecular structure as hemoglobin. Chlorophyll increases hemoglobin production, meaning more oxygen gets to the cancer. Selenium and laetrile are also in wheatgrass, both are anticancer. Chlorophyll and selenium also help build the immunity system. Furthermore, wheatgrass is one of the most alkaline foods known to mankind. And the list goes on.

Cancer, wheatgrass and energy soup

Dear Sir / Mam,

Please be informed that my wife (age 42yrs) has been recently diagnosed of Stomach cancer, called Linitus Plastica. The Cancer has also started to spread to the omentum and further ascites peritoneum has also been detected.

The cancer stage given to my wife is Stage III+. I have already started some local ayurvedic treatment and wheat grass juice therapy alongwith chemotherapy since last one month.

I would still like to explore more avenues of treating her as fast as I can. I have been thru your site and seen your articles on the subject. Kindly guide me whether my wife can be treated using your therapy / ideas, and if so, please send me details on your procedures, tenure of treatment and approx expenditure estimates to enable me follow up the matter.

Regards,
Rohit Sanghani

------------------------

Dear Dr.Flora,

Thank you from your prompt reply. We are based in Mumbai (Bombay), India.

I have been thru most of the literature by Dr.Wigmor available on net and as stated in my last message, I am already giving her 200 gms of Wheatgrass everyday since last 15 days. Indians do give a lot of weight to Wheatgrass theory and it usefulness in fighting Cancer. But due to Chemotherapy treatment (that is being continued to buy time), she is feeling bit weak and until the treatment is over in another three months, we might not be able to travel. Kindly let me know if there are remote chances of full recovery in her case, if so, the duration of your treatment and approx. estimates on the expenses, required for the treatment.

Thanks and regards,
Rohit Sanghani

------------------------

Dear Rohit Sanghani,

Dr. Wigmore did not 'treat' people, just help the people's bodies to heal themselves.  I do not charge for anything because of a vow to God and only repeat what Dr. Wigmore taught me (and others) for the 22 years I was blessed to be with her.  Sometimes people make donations, but every dime is used to pay for a bail bond that I paid for a raw food couple to get them out of jail 3 years ago.  I never discuss how much someone gives me, just give public thanks to them, and only if they allow me to.  Money is not important to me.  If you have none, don't worry.  Teach someone else the Wigmore program, and pay me back that way.

The wheatgrass juice needs to be used immediately, in every case before it is 15 minutes old after juicing, because the medicinal factor dies quickly, and Dr. Wigmore said it was more effective, unless someone had cancer in their throat or head area, to implant it after a series of enemas, making sure the lower bowels were clean.  Each mouthful should be chewed for 2 minutes.

Everything that goes in her mouth must be blended.  The energy soup may be made with half a blender of watermelon including the rind (not the skin) and the other half would be dark baby 7 day old greens, dandelion, buckwheat, sunflower, not spinach, like kale, collards, swiss chard, and the smaller and younger, the better.  1 tablespoon of soaked in water for 10 minutes flax seeds may be added to the blender.

Dr. Wigmore used the juice of coconut once a day.  She used 2 ounces (4 heaping tablespoons) of blended organic (everything should be organic) almonds that had been soaked for a day plus and blended in non-chlorinated water and kept in a glass open jar in the fridge, in the afternoon; and in the morning, 1/4th (or 2 ounces) of avocado, but don't take the avo and the nuts at the same time.

If there are ripe mangos and papayas they may be used instead of watermelon, but watermelon or apples are the best.  The papayas must be very ripe, as the green papayas not only lower the immune system, but prevent the utilization of amylase and protease, which will leave her deficient in nutrients.

The energy soup is the most easy to digest complete meal nourishment.  Sprouted chick peas (garbanzo beans) that are slightly fermented in water were used by Dr. Wigmore to twice get rid of beri-beri and another disease that is caused by both a B vitamin deficiency and C in India years ago.

You may find weeds that are local to your area that will be just as effective as our lambsquarter and purslane here.  I found purslane this morning in front of a courtyard that had been rinsed in the rain and enjoyed them just picking them off and eating them.  The Mexicans call it verdelaga.

Dr. Wigmore liked weeds better than what was bought in the store.  She also used cactus and aloe fresh from the plant, and not bottled.

You have the wonderful herb turmuric which one of your gurus said was helpful in fighting cancer.  Cancer cells grow in cooked mucus-producing foods, like rice and milk.  Please don't allow your wife to be given any type of dairy foods or rice or anything made with white flour or sugar.  There are so many wonderful fruits and vegetables available to help her body regenerate.  The energy will come from the fresh fruits, and the minerals will come from the greens and rinsed sea vegetables like dulse and kelp.

I hope you have read Dr. Hulda Clark's books, "The Cure for All Cancers" and "The Cure for All Advanced Cancers".  There are more than one road to cure the cancer because both Drs. Clark and Wigmore believed that cancer is just a lowered immune system caused by toxemia (petroleum solvents, like isopropyl alcohol, wood alcohol, and benzene, pesticides, chemicals used on the beautiful colors of clothes that come from India, and chemicals people put on their bodies and hair) and deficiency, when the parasites are eating what nourishment the people need from their foods.  The animal filth blowing around in the air from dried animal excretia in India contributes to the amount of fecal bacteria in people and on people's foods, and the fact that a lot of people don't wash their hands very well after going to the bathroom, before touching food, is another.  Her books cost $20 each.  I worked around her for some time and do think that she is a genius, like Dr. Wigmore.

One little bite of oil (something fried, which turns the food to plastic), or grain, and the body loses the strength for around 3 days to discharge its parasites.  She will get very thin, but each energy soup that you fix for her will help her fight this disease and regenerate her cells.  Be careful that a drug called Bactrim is not given to her and make sure she is warm enough.  Her body's surface must be sweating to help her get rid of her disease.

I don't know what damage the chemo has done to her.  She is blessed to have you to help.  I will pray for you all.

Each mouthful should be chewed as if it were a solid, at least 30 times.

Peace and Love,

Flora

Wheatgrass and Mold, part 3

The solution is very simple. The first appearance is in grass about an inch tall. A fine web that if not treated grows up and more concentrated.

The correction is putting the tray on the floor and spraying with high pressure; letting the water flow out to where is doesn't leak out on the racks.

What is really being done is nature's correction when hard rain flushes the mold into the ground. I have never had it reoccur after one treatment.

Wheatgrass and Mold, part 2

Response from Frank Drelich

I have been trying to get the frozen wheatgrass people to acknowledge the fact that the myceal mold from sprouted wheatgrass berries is not harmful. MMI Pathology Laboratories in Georgia, U.S.A., rans tests several years ago on the topical mold ocurring in the trays of wheatgrass that is grown certified and state inspected. (See attached report). Here in Florida this is our 6th year producing. Our product is not at all pathengenic (harmful) to humans. You are what you eat and freeze dried or frozen wheatgrass juice will never replace the power of fresh and since we drink the sprouted grass and not the berry. We grow a premium product. If you have candy bars, barbituates, antibiotics, boooze, cancer, you will purge from fresh wheatgrass every time. With frozen, you will not de-tox that way because we grow a fresh crop every week not every 200 days and freeze it.

SYMPTOMS: Mycelial growth on media surface

I. FUNGUS TEST RESULTS (1): Probable slime mold (surface mycelial growth)
Rhizopus sp. (surface mycelial growth)
Pythium sp. (slight infection, scattered seedlings)

DIAGNOSIS: A probable slime mold was identified on the media surface of the wheat grass flat. The profuse growth over the entire flat and numerous sporangiophores can be characteristic of slime molds. Slime molds may grow at a very fast rate and cover entire surfaces, but slime molds are not pathogenic. Slime molds use the plants for support but do not penetrate the tissue. The profuse growth observed on the flat was easily removed from the seeds, lower stems, and roots of the plants. No penetration of plant tissue was observed. Slime molds are favored by wet environments and feed on dead organic matter. Rhizopus sp. also was identified in the surface growth. Rhizopus is a ubiquitous fungus that grows profusely in high humidity environments. Rhizopus generally is only a problem in storage rot situations, and the fungus has not been reported to be pathogenic on wheat seedlings.

Pythium sp. was observed in the root tissue of selected seedlings. The Pythium infection appeared slight and was confined to discrete root sections of smaller seedlings. No pathogenic fungi were identified on the majority of the seedlings.

Wheatgrass and Mold

By Carroll J. MacIntosh
E-mail: info@evergreenjuices.com
Web Site: Evergreenjuices

You might find this interesting. My father is a retired minister and he started growing wheatgrass juice in Canada over 14 years ago. It started out just for ourselves but then we grew to serve many health food stores and restaurants. We also sold the juicers.

There are a couple things that always bothered us about the juice and that is the reactions many people (including us) had after drinking the juice, such as nausea and headaches within seconds after drinking. We were always told that this was "detoxification". Then we had a lady break out in hives all over her body within minutes after drinking.

We were also told that this was just a strong detoxing symptom. Howvever we just couldn't buy the story anymore. Nausea and headaches and especially hives are a reaction to something, not detoxification. There is no other herb or juice concoction that makes you detox within seconds with these strong reactions. What we did trace it to is the mold that grows on the trays. Mold is highly toxic and can cause instant reactions such as headaches and nausea and even hives. The mold comes from the seeds that don't germinate, and that is why some trays are better than others. We tried using hydrogen peroxide and colidial silver and even picking out the ungerminated seeds with tweezers. We also noticed that those with candida got much worse after drinking wheatgrass juice. (Sugar and mold will set it off.)

So after being indoor growers of wheatgrass juice for over seven years, we decided that we couldn't serve any more knowing that all the so called detoxing symptoms were reactions to the mold. We shut the whole thing down.

The following spring my dad was visiting a farmer friend and his winter wheat was coming up. For the fun of it, he cut down a bunch and juiced it. He couldn't believe the difference in the taste!!! Smooth and mild tasting and no sugary/bitter taste. He kept drinking it until he had finished a whole glass. And guess what? NO REACTIONS. We have done a bunch of testing and found that:

In the process of growing winter wheat, the frost kills the mold on the ungerminated seeds, thus no mold.

Also the chlorophyll is much higher because it is in the sun.

The simple sugars in the indoor sprouts cannot mature enough to change into complex carbohydrates, and that is why it is sweet like syrup. Outdoor grass matures just before the jointing stage and creates a smooth grass taste.

It is in the ground for over 200 days compared with 7 - 10 days indoors.

At great expense we now have an organic farm in Ontario, where we plant winter wheat and harvest it in the spring. We have about three weeks per year to do this. We chill it in 1 1/2 minutes to just above freezing and then it is packaged and frozen. Lab reports show little change in the nutrients even after up to three years in the freezer. Freezing doesn't harm it, it is heat that does.

Our work now is trying to convince those who have sworn off wheatgrass juice, because of past reactions, to try it again. A good example of this is Ernest who owns Rainbow Bridge store in Ojai, CA. (805) 646-4017. His reaction to indoor grown wheatgrass was with his throat swelling up to the point where it was hard to breathe. At the Expo West show in Anaheim, I met him and explained why he reacted to it. I convinced him to try our wheatgrass and with a shaking hand he did. He couldn't believe this was wheatgrass juice. It tasted so different. He was waiting for a reaction, that never happened. He is now so sold on our wheatgrass juice, that he confidently sells it to his clients.

My dad met Ann Wigmore once after he shut down the indoor growing system and he asked her about growing outside. Her answer was "I never thought of it before". I am sure you are familiar with Steve Meyerwitz. He totally believes in what we are doing and in the revision of his book put a page in about us. Pine Wheatgrass also is supportive. They understand the importance of winter wheat.

A radical approach to health

A RADICAL APPROACH TO HEALTH
Take responsibility for your own body

by KK Fowlkes of http://wheatgrasskits.com/

We have the greatest healthcare system in the world, or so we have been led to believe.  It is certainly the costliest.  In 1995 I had just begun a wheatgrass business and had a  greenhouse where people came in and out and sometimes shared with me their experiences with health.  A neighbor to the greenhouse once came in and shared with me his wife's experience.

In July of 1993, medical doctors upon finding a huge tumor in her colon the size of a small grapefruit removed it and put her into intensive care, where she remained until January of 1994.  At that time she died.  He related that the total cost of that illness approached the amount of four hundred thousand dollars!  That was horrific!  The really sad and horrific thing was though that she died anyway.  I am sure that he was thankful to have had health insurance.

Is health insurance necessary?  If a person wishes to lead a hedonistic life and chooses to smoke, drink alcohol, take drugs of all kinds, including over the counter and prescription drugs,  eat anyplace, anytime, anything he so desires, then yes, health insurance is necessary.  In this day, even if a person is careful, and eats the typical American Diet and avoids certain processed food, then yes, health insurance is necessary.

Certainly, it is necessary to have some type of accident insurance to protect vulnerable members of ones family.  Certainly it might be necessary to have some type of insurance if one is in the child bearing years.

The year 2006 saw a 7.7 percent increase in the price of health insurance which was a smaller increase than had been seen in a few years.  Dr. Drew Altman, president and chief executive of the Kaiser Family Foundation, which tracks the annual cost of health insurance said, "To working people and business owners, a reduction in an already very high rate of increase just means you're still paying more."  Since the year 2000, health insurance premiums have gone up 78 percent, versus wages which have gone up 20 percent.

More than 155 million Americans get their health insurance through their jobs.  Employers usually pick up 84 percent of the cost for individuals and 73 percent for families.  Sixty one percent of businesses offer health insurance.  (Kevin Frecking, Associated Press, Yahoo News Sept 26, 2006)

So, what is the overall cost of health insurance?  For individuals the cost averages $4,242. per year.  For families the average cost is $11,800. per year.

This might sound reasonable to my neighbor who would have had to fork up nearly $400,000. dollars for his wife's illness.

However the massive reality here is that she died anyway!  $400,000 dollars expended for her illness and she died anyway!  Truly tell me, what is the use of having it?  One is protecting himself from ever having a major illness cause bankruptcy, but the important thing here, human life, the life of a cherished loved one, is not protected.

Is this reasonable?  Many young families in our society don't even gross $11,800 per year.

Should all the rest of the people in the US be required to pay more taxes so that unknowing or careless people can have some type of insurance?  Do we want to foot the bill for people who say what the heck, I am going to die anyway.  I might as well enjoy myself in the meantime.  Eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we die.

Let us also examine the state of a stay in the hospital these days.  We have just seen how expensive it can be.  Is it safe?  A man named "Lance Peterson who is a disease investigator, reports that he was stunned when he found out that a lethal bacterium was three times more common in his Illinois hospital system than the rate found anywhere in the US."  (Bloomberg.com, Sept. 27, 2006).

Hospital infections kill 92,000 per year.  This statistic comes from the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia.

It is conclusive that we live in a dangerous society.  Should we endanger ourselves even more by entering a hospital?

The radical approach that we suggest is to take responsibility for ones self in only one area of life.  That way is by controlling the main ingredient that affects the health of the body-what we put in it 3 times per day.

In the 1950's Ann Wigmore pioneered a radical approach to carefully care for the human body.  Her approach was two-fold in that it actually took people who were already extremely ill and guided them into a diet that would heal their illness.  Secondly her diet was instructive for those who wish never to become ill.  Her basic diet consisted of living food and wheatgrass juice. http://www.wheatgrasskits.com/issue14.htm

Ann Wigmore's diet was based upon the age old philosophy of Hippocrates, father of medicine, who said,  "Let your food be your medicine."

Juicing up on the "miracle" elixir

(Tel Aviv, Israel) The fashionable status of wheatgrass juice illustrates well the inherent problem of treating a particular element as a magic wand, detached from the worldview that spawned it. According to the Ann Wigmore method, for instance (www.annwigmore.org), wheatgrass juice is part of a healing regimen that consists of four major processes. Two of them - cleansing and rejuvenating the body - are done by means of this juice and a special nutritional menu.

Choking down the wheatgrass juice

A note of thanks for making this publication [Dr. Ann's book, Why Suffer?] available on-line.  Had it not been, I don't know that I would have had the opportunity to read it.  I could not put it down and read it over the weekend.  Truly a courageous woman.

I have known about wheatgrass for a long time but never tried it or felt the need.  Then life changed. I was diagnosed with MCS, an environmental disease that makes living in our world of chemicals next to impossible.  Always a "health nut" I was baffled as to why I would become so depleted when I ate all the "right" things.  Anyway, I am sprouting now and eating even healthier than before.  The jury's out yet but I will be experimenting with "the grass."

I just have one problem, when juiced, the smell is nauseating to me causing me to vomit.  Shall I plug my nose???? Has anyone else ever had this problem?  How does frozen juice fare?

Thanks,

Linda Aulenti

--------------------
You’re not alone. I've heard that it’s a sign of low stomach acid. At any rate, the important thing is to get it down. Hold your nose, eat a slice of lemon or orange afterwards, or dilute it with water. Or, do the WG as an implant.

Fresh frozen can be as much as 95% as potent as fresh; it depends on the process used, and how long it was between juicing and freezing. Ideally, you want to juice it and drink it within 20 minutes of harvesting. Lab tests have shown that by the 5th day after juicing there’s virtually no vitamins or minerals left in it.

I hope this helps,

Jim Carey

Complete nutrition

Wheat3 Complete Nutrition
by Kaitlin Moller
- Including excerpts from Wheatgrass Miracles by Dr. Ann Wigmore and from Unlimited Power by Anthony Robbins

Energized, motivated, and blissful are three great words!   These words might describe someone's mood on a perfect day.  This perfect day could be the outcome of certain factors:   The primary factor is physical health.   People sometimes refuse to  admit that the body often controls motivation.   Will power is just not enough.  We wish  so much to do good things, to accomplish goals and to work hard, but we are tired.  How do we fix our health? In studying successful healthy lives like Ann Wigmore or Anthony Robbins-- one thing is clear what one eats  directly effects how one feels.   Living, fresh, water-rich food energizes, enables motivation and makes life blissful!

Living, green super foods give us that edge we need; they give us energy; they heal and repair our physical bodies.   Ann Wigmore said In technological societies, where so many people live in cities and are far removed from the countryside, people tend not to eat enough leafy green vegetables forgetting the vital importance of the color green in a well balanced diet.  Green foods are the principle source of vitamins and nutrients which are essential in protecting, healing and repairing the human body.  The brighter the color, the richer the vegetable is in that magic ingredient chlorophyll.

Junk food and candy, on the other hand, take the vim and vigor out of us!  In his book, Unlimited Power Anthony Robbins stated We see more and more evidence every day that the American diet of junk food, fast food, and additives and chemicals is causing trapped wastes in the body, and those wastes alter the level of oxygenation and electric energy of the body, contributing to everything from cancer to crime.  Robbins poses the question, What if you started eating healthy, cleansing, water-content foods and stopped eating the meat and dairy products that were stressing and clogging up your system?  We all instinctively know that he is right!  When we eat better, we feel better!

The best source around  to get the rich living minerals that a person needs is in wheatgrass and barley grass juice. The proof is in the way  one feels.!   One hears people say that workouts,  hours at the office,   sleep, and mood all are better on the days they make sure to get their shot of  grass juice.  However,  one daily shot of juice is not the complete magic bullet one needs to  eat good food too!  Ann Wigmore noted Because wheatgrass is such a powerful healer, people think that they can eat as they please and try to make it up by drinking wheatgrass juice. It is so unfortunate that people are not aware that what they put into their bodies on a daily basis is what constitutes health.  Eating unhealthy foods and trying to make up for it by drinking wheatgrass juice does not in any way solve health problems. I hope that you will learn that Living Foods are the most important in getting back to health.

Wheat grass and barley grass have been touted as superfoods by many people including just recently by Dr. Perricone on Oprah.com.  Many of us would rather just buy a dried supplement such as spirulina, blue green algae or chlorella rather than growing our own living super foods.   It is easier right?  Ann Wigmore advised against this, she said .. you should consider the fact that these foods have been highly processed. They are single-cell organisms surrounded by a shell that must be crushed open, allowing the content to oxidize. To limit further oxidization, the algae are packaged in light proof containers, but the damage has already been done. In addition the algae are heat dried at temperatures in excess of 160 Fahrenheit, which further undermines their digestibility and nutritional value.  These foods are basically dead by the time they hit the shelf.  She further states You can easily grow,  harvest and drink the juice almost seconds after harvesting it, thereby reaping the full benefits of its many precious qualities, with absolutely no loss of any of its properties due to processing.

Gradually moving oneself  toward a living, raw food diet is the key to having more body energy which will truly make for many perfect days!

How long to wait between cutting and consuming wheatgrass?

One key question about wheatgrass is how long to wait after cutting it before you consume it? Most people, taking their cue from Ann Wigmore, say to take it immediately after cutting and juicing.

However, the hormone abscisic acid (ABA) is 40 times more potent 4 hours after cutting the wheatgrass than it is at the time of cutting.

So the question boils down to this: How important is ABA to treating cancer compared to the other anticancer substances in wheatgrass? http://www.cancertutor.com/Cancer/Wheatgrass.html

Mixing wheatgrass juice

Hi Jim

I'm harvesting a tray of wheatgrass every two days 10" by 13" and my question is about drinking it.

I've kinda got tired of drinking it straight and I drink about 1/2 gal of carrot juice a day mixed with barly grass powder and I love that taste but really don't want to mix it with carrot juice. What about mixing it with apple juice ?  It taste pretty ok but I have to drink 12 to 15 oz. of apple juice with 3 to 5 oz of wheatgrass to make it taste better.  All the books I have don't really address proportions.  Drinking 1 oz of wheatgrass alone is not so bad but 3 to 5 oz. is really a bad taste.  I haven't been able to find the time to get out the old colema board and start doing irragations so I can do wheatgrass implants. Can you help me with this.....

thank you very much

The benefits of wheatgrass

Annwigmore The Benefits of Wheatgrass
excerpts from The Wheatgrass Book by Dr. Ann Wigmore

WHEATGRASS... Increases red blood cell count, lowers blood pressure... It cleanses the blood, organs and gastrointestinal tract of debris. It stimulates metabolism and bodily enzyme systems in enriching the blood by increasing red blood cell count, and in dilating the blood pathways throughout the body, reducing blood pressure.

Stimulates the thyroid, correcting obesity, indigestion, etc. The thyroid gland is also stimulated and normalized by the use of wheatgrass juice - an important step toward the correction of obesity, indigestion and a host of other complaints.

Restores alkalinity to the blood... Wheatgrass has an alkalizing effect on the blood. Its abundance of alkaline minerals helps reduce overacidity in the blood. It can be used to relieve many internal pains. It has been used successfully to treat peptic ulcers, ulcerative colitis, constipation, diarrhea, and other complaints of the gastrointestinal tract.

How to drink it... Dr. Ann Wigmore suggests drinking wheatgrass juice in small amounts throughout the course of the day, always on an empty or nearly empty stomach. In general, two to four ounces every day or two is sufficient. Slowly sipping small quantities of the juice gives your body an opportunity to get used to its taste and effect. Taking one or two-ounce drinks straight or mixed with other juices (fruit & vegetable) and sipping slowly will help prevent nausea or stomach upset. On a healing regime, Dr. Ann suggests you drink one or two oz., up to 3 or 4 times a day. And to take one day of rest a week.

Powerful detoxifier and liver and blood protector... The enzymes and amino acids found in wheatgrass can protect us from carcinogens like no other food or medicine can. It strengthens our cells, detoxifies the liver, bloodstream, and chemically neutralizes environmental pollutants.

Fights tumors and neutralizes toxins.... Recent studies show that wheatgrass juice has a powerful ability to fight tumors without the usual toxicity of drugs that also inhibit cell-destroying agents. The many active compounds found in grass juice can cleanse the blood and neutralize and digest toxins in our cells.

Whether you have a cut finger you want to heal, or you desire to lose five pounds... enzymes must do the actual work. The life and abilities of the enzymes found naturally in our bodies can be extended if we help them from the outside by adding exogenous enzymes, like the ones found in wheatgrass juice.

Remarkable similarity to our own blood... The 2nd important nutritional aspect of chlorophyll is its remarkable similarity to hemoglobin, the compound that carries oxygen in the blood. Dr. Hagiwara, a Japanese science and health educator, is a leading advocate for the use of grass as food and medicine. He reasons that since chlorophyll is soluble in fat particles, and since fat particles are absorbed directly into the blood via the lymphatic system, that chlorophyll can also be absorbed in this way. In other words, when the "blood" of plants is absorbed in humans it is transformed into human blood, which transports nutrients to every cell of the body.

Wheatgrass implants reverse damage from inside the lower bowel... In the case of illness, they stimulate a rapid cleansing of the lower bowel and draw out accumulations of debris. Hold for 20 minutes.

Externally eliminates itching almost immediately... Wheatgrass juice externally applied to the skin can help eliminate itching almost immediately.

It will soothe sunburned skin and also acts as a disinfectant.

Rubbed into the scalp before a shampoo, it will help mend damaged hair and alleviate itchy, scaly scalp conditions.

Wheatgrass juice is soothing and healing for cuts, burns, scrapes, rashes, poison ivy, athlete's foot, insect bites, boils, sores , open ulcers, tumors & so on.

As a sleep aid... Merely place a tray of living wheatgrass near the head of your bed. It will enhance the oxygen in the air and generate healthful negative ions to help you sleep more soundly.

Use as a poultice and replace every two to four hours.

Add some to your bath water and settle in for a nice, long soak.

Gargle with wheatgrass to sweeten the breath and firm up and tighten gums.

Don't cook it... We can only get the benefits of the many enzymes found in grass by eating it uncooked. Cooking destroys 100 percent of the enzymes in food.

Neutralizes toxins... Wheatgrass neutralizes toxic substances like cadmium, nicotine, strontium, mercury and polyvinyl chloride.

The benefits of a liquid oxygen transfusion... Wheatgrass juice contains liquid oxygen. Oxygen is vital to many body processes: it stimulates digestion (the oxidation of food), clearer thinking (the brain utilizes 25 percent of the bodily oxygen supply), and protective oxygenation of the blood (a defense against anaerobic bacteria). Cancer cells cannot exist in the presence of oxygen.

Turns gray hair to its natural color again, raises energy levels... Daily consumption of wheatgrass and sprouts can turn gray hair to its natural color again, and give you a limitless energy level.

Beauty treatment that slows down the aging process... Wheatgrass will cleanse your blood and help rejuvenate aging cells, slowing the aging process down, way down, making you feel more alive now. It will help tighten loose and sagging skin.

Lessens effect of radiation... One enzyme found in wheatgrass, SOD, lessens the effects of radiation and acts as an anti-inflammatory compound that may prevent cellular damage following heart attacks or exposure to irritants.

Restores fertility... Wheatgrass restores fertility and promotes youthfulness.

Just soaking in it can double your red blood cell count. Dr. Bernard Jensen found that none of the blood builders are superior to green juices and wheatgrass. In his book Chlorophyll Magic, from Living Plant Life, he mentions several cases where he was able to double the red blood cell count in a matter of days merely by having patients soak in a chlorophyll-water bath. Blood building results occur even more rapidly when patients drink green juices and wheatgrass regularly.

Ann Wigmore on her own experience with wheatgrass: "At fifty years of age my hair was gray, I had a terrible case of colitis and other colon problems, I suffered from low energy and had no clear direction in life. Out of desperation I turned to nature for relief... In wheatgrass, raw foods and exercise, I found what I feel is as close to the fountain of youth as we are going to get. Twenty-five years after my discovery, my hair was turned fully natural brown again. My weight has been a stable 119 and my energy level is limitless"

What's So Great About Wheat Grass Juice?*

1. Wheatgrass juice is 70% chlorophyll.

2. Chlorophyll is the first product of light and contains more light energy than any other element.

3. Wheatgrass juice is a crude chlorophyll and can be taken orally and as a colon implant without toxic side effects.

4. Chlorophyll is the basis of all plant life.

5. Wheatgrass is high in oxygen like all green plants that contain chlorophyll. The brain and all body tissues function at an optimal level in a highly-oxygenated environment.

6. Chlorophyll is anti-bacterial and can be used inside and outside the body as a healer.

7. Dr. Bernard Jensen says that it only takes minutes to digest wheatgrass juice and uses up very little body energy.

8. Science has proven that chlorophyll arrests growth and development of unfriendly bacteria.

9. Chlorophyll (wheatgrass) rebuilds the bloodstream. Studies of various animals have shown chlorophyll to be free of any toxic reaction. The red cell count was returned to normal with 4 to 5 days of the administration of chlorophyll, even in those animals which were known to be extremely anemic or low in red cell count.

10. Farmers in the Midwest who have sterile cows and bulls put them on wheatgrass to restore fertility. (The high magnesium content in chlorophyll builds enzymes that restore the sex hormones.)

11. Chlorophyll can be extracted from many plants, but wheatgrass is superior because it has been found to have over 100 elements needed by man. If grown in organic soil, it absorbs 92 of the known 102 minerals from the soil.

12. Wheatgrass has what is called the grass juice factor, which has been shown to keep herbivorous animals alive indefinitely.

13. Dr. Ann Wigmore has been helping people get well from chronic disorders for 30 years using wheatgrass.

14. Liquid chlorophyll gets into the tissues, refines them, and makes them over.

15. Wheatgrass juice is a superior detoxification agent compared to carrot juice and other fruits and vegetables. Dr. Earp Thomas, associate of Ann Wigmore, says that 15 pounds of wheatgrass is the equivalent of 350 pounds of carrots, lettuce, celery and so on.

16. Liquid chlorophyll washes drug deposits from the body.

17. Chlorophyll neutralizes toxins in the body.

18. Chlorophyll helps purify the liver.

19. Chlorophyll improves blood sugar problems.

20. Wheatgrass juice cures acne and even removes scars after it has been ingested for seven to eight months. The diet must be improved at the same time.

21. In The American Journal of Surgery (1940), Benjamin Cruskin, M.D., recommended chlorophyll to clear up foul-smelling odors, neutralize strep infections, heal wounds, hasten skin grafting, cure chronic sinusitis, overcome chronic inner-ear inflammation and infections, reduce varicose veins and heal leg ulcers, eliminate impetigo and other scabby eruptions, heal rectal sores, successfully treat inflammation of the uterine cervix, get rid of parasitic vaginal infections, reduce typhoid fever, and cure advanced pyorrhea in many cases.

22. Wheatgrass juice acts as a detergent in the body and is used as a body deodorant.

23. A small amount of wheatgrass juice in the human diet prevents tooth decay.

24. Wheatgrass juice held in the mouth for 5 minutes will eliminate toothaches and poisons from gums.

25. Gargle with wheatgrass juice for a sore throat.

26. Pyorrhea of the mouth: lay pulp of wheatgrass soaked in juice on diseased area in mouth or chew wheatgrass. Spit out out pulp.

27. Drink wheatgrass juice for skin problems such as eczema or psoriasis.

28. Wheatgrass juice keeps the hair from graying.

29. By taking wheatgrass juice, one may feel a difference in strength, endurance, health, and spirituality, and experience a sense of well-being.

30. Wheatgrass juice improves the digestion.

31. It is great for blood disorders of all kinds.

32. Wheatgrass juice is high in enzymes.

33. Wheatgrass juice is an excellent skin cleanser and can be absorbed through the skin for nutrition. Pour green juice over your body in a tub of warm water and soak for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse off with cool water.

34. Wheatgrass implants (enemas) are great for healing and detoxifying the colon walls. The implants also heal and cleanse the internal organs. After an enema, wait 20 minutes, then implant 4-ounces of wheatgrass juice. Retain for 20 minutes.

35. Wheatgrass juice is great for constipation and keeping the bowels open. It is high in magnesium.

36. Dr. Birscher, a research scientist, called chlorophyll "concentrated sun power." He said, “Chlorophyll increases the function of the heart, affects the vascular system, the intestines, the uterus and the lungs."

37. According to Dr. Birscher, nature uses chlorophyll (wheatgrass) as a body cleanser, rebuilder and neutralizer of toxins.

38. Wheatgrass juice can dissolve the scars that are formed in the lungs from breathing acid gasses. The effect of carbon monoxide is minimized since chlorophyll increases hemoglobin production.

39. Wheatgrass juice reduces high blood pressure as it enhances the capillaries.

40. Wheatgrass juice can remove heavy metals from the body.

Wheatgrass - it's not just for cows

Feedback - Uta Koch, Netherlands

Hello,

Since a couple of weeks my wheatgrass is growing and we hope my daughter, suffering from colitis ulsaroses, will get better. I found out about the wheatgrass by accident in a Dutch magazine. It seems that the Netherlands are about the only country in the world where the wheatgrass never was a success and until now hardly known! Can you imagine? Well we will try to help change it. So I started looking on Internet and found a lot, (besides the books of Ann Wigmore), and learned a lot.

And besides this, the USA should got to know the miraculous health technique I learned in South Africa: Body Stress Release. If you like: go and see the website http://www.bodystressrelease.co.za/. Based on the principal: the body will always heal itself if given the opportunity. I feel that the right food and this technique together would heal the whole world population.

Shall we start?

Sorry, just joking, sometimes you have to think BIG!! Just for the fun of it.

With kind regards,

Uta Koch

The miracle of wheatgrass

When desperate patients and family members call our office hoping for miracles we always tell them we are out of magic bullets. Just as the development of cancer is a complicated process, so too, complete and permanent recovery from cancer requires a slow repair process in which careful attention must be paid to multiple aspects of body chemistry. Wheat1b

One gift of nature - chlorophyll - more closely approximates a miracle food than any other we've encountered.

Wheat grass juice is an excellent source of chlorophyll. Wheat grass juice is also high in iron, oxygen, and enzymes and is one of the richest sources of vitamins A, B, and C.

Studies of wheatgrass by Dr. Chiu Nan Lai of the University of Texas System Cancer Center showed it to be a potent inhibitor of several carcinogens. Applying low levels of the extract to mutagens diminished activity in them by up to 99%.

More research has examined the healing properties of chlorophyll in general and seems to be related to the fact that the chlorophyll molecule is nearly identical to that of hemoglobin, whose single atom of iron replaces one atom of magnesium.

Distinguished medical specialists have reported hundreds of cases in which chlorophyll has cured deep infections, stimulated healing, removed necrotic debris from open wounds, and accelerated connective tissue and epidermal proliferation.

Many reports of chlorophyll's effectiveness have come through Dr. Ann Wigmore, ND, and teacher of natural living. Dr. Ann credits wheatgrass with curing her gangrenous leg and preventing its amputation. She subsequently founded the Hippocrates Health Institute in Boston to teach others about wheatgrass.

According to Dr. Ann, Dr. Bernard Jensen and G. P. Earp-Thomas of Bloomfield Laboratories, chlorophyll purifies the blood, prevents tooth decay, aids in proper digestion, helps detoxify the liver, keeps the thyroid gland in balance, cleanses internal organs, enhances capillary function, supports sex hormones, decontaminates inorganic chemicals, and builds up white blood cell counts.

Furthermore, green juices provide easy assimilation of nutrients especially in cases of poor digestion or immuno-suppression. Reports of chlorophyll's effectiveness in managing human ailments abound.

Recent medical research has found that cancer goes into remission when the body is alkaline. The raw living foods diet helps to make the body alkaline (easily tested with litmus paper), but our personal experiences since 1976 support the research of Dr. Wigmore -- wheatgrass juice is an important part of the diet and program.
