Hello, to each of you!
My name is Karen, I am a recent "graduate" of the Hippocrates Health Institute in West Palm Beach, FL (US), recently converted to the Raw Food/Living Foods Diet from a cooked vegetarian diet.
I have a 5-year-old son, Ethan, who became vegetarian with me two years ago and now I am trying to transition him to the Raw Food Diet. I feel 100% confident about this decision, based on my awareness of the success and health of other families, such as The Clements, Storm & Jinjee's Family, and the Boutenko Family, the scientific studies that have been done to research and support the Raw Food Diet, and all of my blissful experience with the Raw Food Diet. My instinct tells me this is right, I believe God intended for humans to be herbivores/Raw Food eaters, and I trust the research that I have heard so much about as the purest nutritional knowledge on the plant.
I am writing because (Ethan's pediatrician, I believe) began an investigation through Social Services/Child Welfare for NEGLECT, supporting that statement by saying that the diet I have put him on (which he eats on alternating weeks because of our custoy arrangement) is insufficient nutritonally. I am in DIRE NEED of support from my fellow, knowledgable Raw Foodists! I just began this diet and, though I am aware of the scientific support for the diet, I do not have it! I need to collect scientific information to prove this diet's nutritional sufficiency.
I need your help!!! I need your help so much!
Even if someone could show me medical documents on the children in your families during their younger years (4-6) on the raw food diet, that would be wonderful. Plus, of course, any data or linking information to support the raw food diet's nutrition... ANYTHING you can think of that might be helpful!
All my gratitude and respect goes out to all of you for your efforts as Raw Foodists!!!
Namaste,
Mrs. Karen ********

Dear Karen,
My heart goes out to you in appreciation of your being such a caring mother.
However, I have witnessed some unfortunate incidents in the last three years where parents, and especially children, had to go through psychological trauma and even had their children taken away. I know that raw food is the optimal diet for humans, and that is why I fed my children 100% raw since they were 3 and 4 years old. I think that the time is coming when society will recognize the supremacy of this way of eating but it is not there yet.
That is why my position is as follows: consider including some organic vegan cooked food to your child's diet to completely avoid psychological trauma, which I believe is more harmful to your child than a little bit of cooked food. Make sure that your child consumes plenty of greens, especially in the form of green smoothies, to compensate for the consumption of less valuable foods. Talk to your ex-spouse in as friendly a way as possible.
Demonstrate cooperation to avoid any suspicion of improper diet. Then at home when nobody is watching you can feed your children whatever you consider the best. Just avoid making public claims.
When my children were little, we had problems that came from neighbor's reports. We even had to move a lot until our kids grew up.
I do not suggest that you live in fear, but only that you understand that the law is not on your side. I strongly believe that to expose the benefits of the raw food diet, adults have to act first without involving children, and this process is already happening. When it will become more normal and acceptable to be on a raw diet among adults than we can expose our kids.
Sincerely,
Victoria Boutenko
