Below is a science fair project that my granddaughter did for 2006. In it she took filtered water and divided it into two parts. The first part she heated to boiling in a pan on the stove, and the second part she heated to boiling in a microwave. Then after cooling she used the water to water two identical plants to see if there would be any difference in the growth between the normal boiled water and the water boiled in a microwave. She was thinking that the structure or energy of the water may be compromised by microwave. As it turned out, even she was amazed at the difference.
I have known for years that the problem with microwaved anything is not the radiation people used to worry about, it's how it corrupts the DNA in the food so the body can not recognize it.
So the body wraps it in fat cells to protect itself from the dead food or it eliminates it fast.
Think of all the Mothers heating up milk in these "Safe" appliances. What about the nurse in Canada that warmed up blood for a transfusion patient and accidentally killed them when the blood went in dead.
But the makers say it's safe. Never mind then, keep using them. Ask your Doctor. I am sure they will say it's safe too.
Proof is in the pictures of living plants dying. Remember You are also Living.
Take Care.

There is no doubt that happiness is the most precious thing in the world. Without it, life will be empty and meaningless. happiness consists in contentment. A man who is dissatisfied with his present condition is always in distress.

That was irresistible! Thanks for the orientation! I even did a appraisal on my website! I visualize to thank the blogger very much not only for this post excluding also for his all preceding efforts.

Snopes.com repeated this experiment in a more controlled/correct manner and was unable to duplicate the results. http://www.snopes.com/science/microwave/plants.asp

Microwaves have been shown to affect foods in these ways:2
Reduce levels of vitamin B 12
Vitamin B 12 is essential for red blood cell formation, preventing anemia, and a healthy nervous system.
Decrease flavonoids by 97%!
Flavonoids have anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and anti-microbial properties.
Break down bacteria-digesting enzymes in breast milk
Babies rely on enzymes from breast milk to establish a healthy inner ecosystem that digests food, absorbs nutrients and protects against pathogens.
Lower levels of sinapic acid derivatives
Sinapic acids scavenge for and neutralize free radicals, cancer-causing agents in your body.
Decrease antibody levels in breast milk
Antibodies in mother's milk protect babies from infections.
Microwaving foods may preserve more vitamins than boiling, for example, but that does not make it a safe and nutritious cooking choice.
Microwaving can significantly alter levels of vitamins and nutrients that you need for a healthy body.

How can you base your argument that microwaves corrupt the DNA in food on this experiment? There is no DNA in water. And plants don't have fat cells. Your argument is completely flawed, especially since you have a sample size of 1 for each group.

Interesting experimental concept though I'm not sure from the article that all variables were controlled and accounted for.
For example, the article asserts that microwaves disrupt DNA. This poses more than a few problems: water has no DNA -- so is the writer referring to the microbes and living organisms that can be found in the water? The microwaves excite the water molecules which begin to vibrate - the vibrations become heat as the microwaves are absorbed.
Microwaving, contrary to popular belief, can actually preserve food and nutrients. Here's what the FDA says:
"Microwave cooking does not reduce the nutritional value of foods any more than conventional cooking. In fact, foods cooked in a microwave oven may keep more of their vitamins and minerals, because microwave ovens can cook more quickly and without adding water."
I'm not sure that the body of scientific work that exists on microwaves would concur with this kitchen experiment. While I'm not advocating for microwaves per sé, I am also leery of accepting quasi-scientific explanations that aren't strongly rooted in the scientific method.

interesting results, but it's not science unless you use multiple* plants in both categories

Thanks for sharing this info!

thanks for the info... I have been thru enough with radiation for cancer, and cells with dna messed with thru chemo, so I don't need anymore tampering, for sure! this just proves to me what I suspected, I don't need a clinical trial to realize this is correct info you are passing on... xoxo

Amazing discovery. Having a 6 month old son I never heated up anything in the microwave for him. My use for the microwave is very minimal but after reading your blog it gives me some "food" for thought. Thank you for enlightening us.
