Even with the anti-cruelty laws, some truly awful things happen to animals, not just for meat, but for dairy and eggs. farm animals are almost invariably subjected to things like de-beaking, living in extremely cramped conditions, being fed absolute garbage... Garbage that we, in turn, eat.

However, my issue with this as a reminder for raw food is that I see veganism as a moral imperative to help the 56 billion animals killed a year for our food. Eating raw is only for my own health. I do agree that the conditions animals live in serve as a good way to keep us away from meat, milk and eggs.

Definitely appreciate everything you guys are doing at this institute. Keep up the fantastic work.

I've been a vegetarian most of my life and I'm afraid it has nothing to do with being or staying raw, because I struggle with it a lot. I'm raw for two months and then because of stress I'll start eating quick things like subway etc.. but never meat. I couldn't eat meat if someone paid me to, and I can't believe how many people support the abuse of animals just because of taste. It's sad to see kids watching their favorite shows on tv featuring many animals that they eat on a regular basis.

I think of it as dead animal flesh and that does it for me!
